  1. Winter sun on Burton Marshes. It's a good job sheep can't read because, the sign in the background is a warning to tell you to keep off as it's a firing range Kev
  2. Those were the days eh! We would spend Saturday afternoons at each other's houses playing our latest sounds and even do our own cover ups. I think collecting Motown is a great start. Exactly where we started, except in those days we were buying some of them as new releases. Things that ended up becoming big in later years like "Martha Reeves - No one there". If you buy what you like then you can't go wrong as long as you don't pay over the odds for it. Plenty on here will help you with values so you won't pay too much. Good luck Kev

  12. Great to see the Vulcan. I spent my early years in Waddington Lincs opposite the Vulcan Bomber base watching them take off every day. My special trick was to get lost at air shows and have my name read out over the tannoy. Kev
  13. My recent trip up to the Lakes
  14. I've got the official motown backing track to the Isleys, but it has some backing vocals on it..Like Pete says if it was the stereo version of the album sometimes the vocals and instrumental are split. The Motown Karaoke cd's are split like that. I think there's one secondhand set left on amazon as they are deleted now.
  15. I really don't know why I never heard it played out. Maybe I did, but it just didn't register. I dipped out of the scene for a bit, like a lot of people and first heard it on one of those very early northern soul compilation cd's c1989. In fact during the 90's I bought pretty much every northern cd I could get my hands on as I was bringing up kids so Richard Searling's radio shows and cd's were my only source of new sounds. Kev
  16. Thanks Pete, Are they both on Breakthrough and do they have the same catalogue number? Kev
  17. Nearly 25years after first hearing it, I've only just discovered that there are two versions of "No on else can take your place". There are two different copies on Breakthrough. Are these the two different versions? I'm sure someone out there can help me Thanks Kev This version or This Version

Hall and oates never did baby come back to my knowledge. It was Player and the you tube clip is Player and says so in f***ing big letters. Why someone has put it up as Hall and Oates I've no idea. Anyway it appears it's not that one anyway. Kev
  19. Johnny Caswell You don't love me was played from the offset at Wigan. That was the first place I heard it. Then Paul Anka followed covered up as Johnny Caswell and Epitome of Sound as Moses Smith. Kev
