Is This A Bootleg (linda Griner)
Looks and sounds like mine with the nashville matrix and numbers half covered by the label. Mine is the 'Good-by Cruel world' version so I can't see that they would boot 2 different titles ( and if it's a boot, Mr Cunliffe is in serious trouble!!!) Hope this helps. Julian

Sounds Daft But This Boot Is Rare
Used to buy the OOTP 45s in bulk off Chris Burton at 50p each. I then got my mate Twink to sell them at Wigan for a £1 - nice profit. Never went to Wigan myself - I already given up going to NS do's but still had a lot of contacts. Happy days. Julian

Ebay - Help
Thanks for all the replies. I did request a final payment figure via ebay and have subsequently emailed him via ebay to request total again. I have now just mailed via ebay again to tell him I am giving him a couple more days before I file an ebay complaint. I will keep you posted. Julian

Ebay - Help
Won a 45 on 17th Feb. UK seller based in Darlington sold in $ with no postage costs. Asked for a total price on the day and have followed up with a separate email requesting full cost. Not had a reply. Now, I realise the seller may be on holiday, but I would have thought it would have mentioned it in the sales blurb. Not a high price item, but my bid was a reasonable price. Can the seller refuse to sell ( surely he should have placed a minimum bid, if he required a minimum amount?) Any thoughts of how I can get this sorted. Thanks Julian

"myspace" Continues To Get More And More Interesting
Spent some time with Sidney barnes a couple of years ago. He told me that when he recorded 'Standing on solid ground' Mr Levine suggested that they put it out 'as a 60s recording' !!!!! Sidney told him to 'bugger off' - NOT literally I hope! Julian

I'm Just A Wood's Paper Bag
Hi derek thought they had a branch in Bradford on Sunbridge Road ( just down from the Co-op in Sunwin House). Also, one in Cleckheaton ( which I used to raid in the late 60s) on the way home from Grammar School. Julian

Thanks Dave, better NOT put it in the playbox, or I might get lynched! Great tune by the way. Thanks for 'finding' it. Julian

Ad-libs
This was the first ever 'cover-up' I can remember. Dave Godin gave it to John Bollen/Franny Francisco to get played around West Yorkshire at clubs like Lord Jims, Hernies, Victory Lounge, The Wellington etc. As you say, spine tingling music. Now to soul club to give it a listen! Julian

Double Decker Disco
Sorting some old papers out and came across the wife's old Wheel and Torch membership cards + the one listed above. It's yellow, dated on the top 27.11.70 with some sort of motif in the top r'h corner. The strange thing is under the Double Decker Disco title it reads " This ticket to be exchanged with waitress for evening meal or to be deducted from the grill menu" - yeah, like we were going to be eating!!!!! Overleaf it simply says FRIDAY with the written number 178. I can only think this is a 'Blue Orchid' card. Can anyone confirm? TIA Julian

Larry Hammond
Thanks for the information everyone. Reason for asking, was that I was playing a what I thought was a blank B side of a 45 to a LP track only I had cut to play out, and this track has been cut on the B side!) The strange world on Northern Soul !! Gonna play it at Barrow in Furness Charity do tomorrow night. Julian
