After a bit of advice guys. Recently bought a copy of Jerry Jackson - It's Rough Out there off a guy I know to be a reputable dealer. But label didn't look like I expected. Is it just another issue or is it a pressing? I'm sure the guy will refund if it is a pressing as I know he would have been duped too! I've done a scan below so could you let me know guys? Sure..big Wigan sound for sure...still give it a spin myself ocassionally when DJ'ing..always goes down well. Like it myself but not liked by everyone. Not too dear considering the prices these days...about £50ish.

Have to agree with all your comments. Saw him last year at Shrewsbury Jazz and Roots Club and he was was absolutely awesome. Just stunned me into silence and reverence. Just could not believe what I was hearing or seeing. Had a chance to chat to him about his days with the Sidewinders and the Stafford monster of his (which I managed to pick up for £50 - bargain) "Talkin' 'bout You babe" A real gent and and surely some promoter should pick him up and put him on the Northern Circuit? This guy has still got it!

I adored the Nighter.I was a regular there from begining to end. Absolutely excellent venue and great DJ line up. Love a copy of the Leicester video...I'm on it somewhere! Usual story... lent mine out to someone who lent it to a friend.... Wouldn't mind a copy again if somebody would be so kind? obviously some recompense would be in order....

Can you clarify someting for me. I attended various nighters (Oddfellows in Leicester. Stafford TOTW etc) during the '80's when this record first came to the fore when a few DJ's had a few unreleased acetates of The Prophets and this was certainly the version that was played the most at the time. I didn't know there was another version until I heard (I think it was Keith Minshull) play The Originals at The Rotherham Clifton Hall. I then later thought that my pressing of the Prophets was just a speeded up vesion (a la Epitome of Sound) of The Originals, but listening to both versions I can hear that this is not the case, as both vocal styles are different. Can you get me up to speed on this 'cos it's been bothering me for nearly 20 bloody years!
