  1. £32.50 seems a little expensive for postage (thought would let you know)
  2. Please don't be confused as someone on here will hopefully know The problem with vinyl re-issues is that they have been bootlegged and re-issued legitimately as well over the decades and sadly there are so many, that people ending up not knowing, it's been going on for years and is so much more happening now with the technology more available However, people are often scared to tell the truth if they do know (I don't know why)
  3. Looks as though it's a bootleg, there's a lot more releases most are marked here as boots https://www.discogs.com/label/266087-Delta-14
  4. Again and please excuse my repeating can we now that is sorted can we get back to the writers anomaly please
  5. I know it's been along time this thread finished but we are sadly no where forward as to the man who was the Palmer Jimmy Mack Of course there was another release might or might not help and the Jimmy Mack "D" on Northwest
  6. Can we now that is sorted can we get back to the writers anomaly please
  7. I found his acting stuff on Wikki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_McEachin
  8. There is also the matter of whether Marvin Gaye's family here it and get unhappy like they did with "blurred Lines" and another potential court case looms (although probably not enough "money" in it) The exact same re-issue thing has happened with this tune (prices are a bit less (I got mine for £7), but at least the re-issue is different https://www.discogs.com/Thee-Lakesiders-Si-Me-Faltaras-Tu/master/1490259
  9. Apparently not it is James McEachin https://fanpix.famousfix.com/gallery/james-mceachin/p34808839
  10. I would like to ask if anyone knows why the writers credits were so different on the same release here in the UK on Jay Boy Was this just a mess-up or was there another reason ?.
  11. I bought my first record £10 (single) with my dinner tokens from school, who was the mug (bootleg copy of Rufus Lumley I'm standing (I didn't know what a bootleg was then) inflation says £10 in 1977 → £60.96 in 2018
  12. There is a danger here that the next press might just not sell as much, I would steer well clear of any advice personally
  13. After some digging I noticed the name Frank Fioravanti kept appearing everywhere on the Omega, Mel-Omega and Sound Gems labels It's probs well known but thought would share in case and as I don't do facebook someone might want to contact him and get the credit for his story or write "another book" I found this thread discussing stuff
  14. Mick H is the expert on the Salt and Pepper record which was Recorded in Bangkok, he used to really annoy me playing it Kent released it
  15. There are 3 images on Discogs of the Detroit group but the New Jersey group are listed with them (uptite) https://www.discogs.com/artist/696048-The-Superlatives-3
  16. Too right but if it is released as a 7" (my advice for what it's worth) take out the chat at the beginning DJ's won't want that and have to cue it in after the chat
  17. Blackpoolsoul replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Does your book say who Bernie Williams was (no relation to the Blue Notes?) there's nothing after digging around
  18. There had always been discussion about this group being different to the Detroit group This is the info I have from digging around This Superlatives were an all male group from New Jersey:St. Julian (pee wee) Bonaparte (lead)David Jones (first tenor)Leon Stuckey (second tenor)Marvin (mousey) Williams (bass)Gerald Applewhite (baritone)Both the tracks, 'i still love you' and 'we're so lonely' were recorded in 1966, at Cameo Parkway in Philadelphia. The Detroiters were apparently James Edwards, Billy George Jones, James Stuberfield, Ray Took and Rip Washington. It would be nice to know and rectify as I cannot be certain and need your help (I could have missed it on another thread!!!)
  19. I have to say that it's a belter/superb/monster tune and I can see lot's of old men like me peering over a Dj's deck and asking "what the.... is that". Plans should be made to rebuild "The Casino" and they can play this on a loop for me and I won't need 7 or 8 pints to try and get out of my chair to dance to this tune........ What's even more fantastic is he's French, from Bordeaux.....seriously this man can take the US on !!!!
  20. Sean there is little info on Jean and or Barbara and there was another discussion about Shiptown and they might be able to help I fund this on google and wondered sadly if it might be Jean https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/portsmouth-dailytimes/obituary.aspx?n=jean-battle&pid=175583560&fhid=30637
  21. I just happened to come across this sad article from December 2017 which seems to have been missed https://eu.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/detroit-city/2017/12/06/motown-great-eddie-holland-penniless-tax-bill/108383710/
