  1. Yes. 100% SCAM. He's just copied the scan from my copy i sold on Ebay a few weeks back. Here is a web page dedicated to the infamous vendor of Timmie Williams; https://kendonnelly.tripod.com/ If you google plenty of other instances come up. Cheers, Frank
  2. I know who is listing this and he is a thief. Do not bid, cancel your snipes. The record does not exist. There's a queue of people waiting to have a quiet word with him but he's in hiding! NORTHERN SOUL TIMMIE WILLIAMS "Competition" US 7" eBay Item number 100500940062 He stole the scan from a previous listing which can be seen here https://www.popsike.com/php/detaildata.php?itemnr=4878379215 Cheers, Frank Driscoll

I'd never heard this version before, or seen a copy on Port, I'd like one too if they do exist. I have a version by Lonnie Youngblood on Loma which isn't too bad, pretty sure it's the same song but I'm very busy at work at the moment so I can't check to be 100% sure. Frank Driscoll

I've sent it through to you, although some things seem to be taking hours to reach the recipient. Is there any way that I can make MP3's smaller using Windows media player, or do I have to download different software? Cheers, Frank Driscoll

I can't get the file to upload. The smallest I can make the MP3 is 2,602kb so maybe that's why. I can email it to anyone who wants it though.

I will attempt to add a soundfile of "Will You Be Staying After Sunday" - Wendell Watts, it's not a record I would choose to listen to.

If you want to pay £300 for it you can have my M- WDJ copy, postage included! Cheers, Frank Driscoll
  9. It's on a Reeves-Soundcraft acetate, so I thought as there was no group credited The Soundcrafts would do. I'd like to know the real identity though. Cheers, Frank Driscoll
  10. I've got a few things ending today on eBay, some Aussie issues and other bits and pieces. Among them is an Aussie only alternative version of "The Night", The Packers, Carmen Taylor, Robert Knight, Renee Geyer, Aretha "Integrity", Beverly Bremers all on Aussie labels plus some other odds and ends. If you're interested search by seller dynodynamic or you can try the link. https://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ2...assZdynodynamic Cheers, Frank Driscoll

I'm a bit late replying to this as I only just spotted it. There is no actual group called the Soundcrafts, the record is an acetate that I received as a gift from a US dealer. The titles of both sides are written on it; "I Want To Be Hers" / "The Fight". It's a Reeves Soundcraft acetate and as no artist was credited I chose the name The Soundcrafts to give it some sort of identity. I've asked around and looked myself for a clue to the real identity of the group but not got anywhere. I know there is a record called "The Fight" by the Fenways on Blue Cat but I haven't heard it so I don't know if that's who they are. Anyway I hope that helps. Frank Driscoll

"I Gotta Let You Go" was only a B side in the UK, in the US it was an A side with "You're The Loser Now" on it's flip. There's loads of great Motown flips, if you like late 70's stuff check out the Fifth Dimension "Slipping Into Something New" which is on the flip of "You Are The Reason (I Feel Like Dancing)". A couple of nice 60's flips are "I Couldn't Cry If I Wanted To" The Temptations and Marvin's "When I Had Your Love". and sticking with Marvin Gaye the flip to the UK issue of "Grapevine" has "Need Somebody" which I don't think got issued on a 45 anywhere else. Quite a lot of the UK Tamla Motown releases had different or unique B sides to the US issues, Gladys Knight's "No One Could Love You More" is a prime example of that. I suppose the moral is always play both sides. Frank Driscoll

ABC used a blob of gold paint instead of the drill-hole to show discounted 45's that could not be returned for a refund. I don't know if it was the actual record company or one or more of their distributors that did this though. Both sides of George Byrd are nice, hard for me to pick which is better.
