so how much is this going for today. the first issue (1003) from 1970 and the worlds funkies band from 1978 are defo the same recording. can anyone put up a clip of the 1972 (1004) release dave

yeh some of the 80`s big haired rock bands were never much good and havent stood the test of time

i agree with that. chart music is usually somebody featuring somebody else.theres a lot of black music in the charts but its rotten.the lyrics and the tunes all sound like nursery rhymes to my ears...........f**kin awful dave

white spirit or turps. this usually fetches things like cellotape off. trickier with tape thats been on 20/30 years tho then wash with warm soapy water dave

i pretty much like soul across the board.but i easily overdose on r n b. i cant listen to much 2010 black music.either. i cant seem to find the soulful element in it. the music production is ok but vocally the bloke seems to say `yo yo ` and the girls just wail.........and i cant abide rap in any description. i d rather listen to rock as far as new musics concerned. i like music, PERIOD.. theres not many artists that i dont like at least 1 tune by. got `muse - resistance lp on this morning but i will be at the washington in sheffield this afternoon for a dose of rare soul:thumbup: oh and i just put the black keys tighten up on my ipod:thumbsup: dave

the original of youre number one is easy to tell from the 70`s press.looks totally different:thumbsup: dave

gwen mccrae did a good version on atlantic ................................ cheaper as well dave

issue is £40/50. demo £50/60 but im sure john will get more in auction after all its a uk demo and they are always very desireable dave

its a great tune i think...................won my copy on ebay for 99p 5 or 6 years ago. i ve also been told it was steve brookstein doing the vocal on this side and it was done by ian levine. the flip side is pants imo. as far as it goes they should be classed as original because the love label from 2002 is all you`ll get it on dave

john phillips has one. that didnt jump as far as i recall. i remember him buying it early 90`s dave

when we say off center............................... it only slightly off. most eyes and ears wont even pick it up dave

there is nothing between the issue and demo really in rarity. popsike shows 12 issues and 9 demo`s. £200 of anyones money IMO. has sold for £300 but there`s been a couple of beaters on ebay for less than a ton. issue copy has lover boy on the flip. demo is mono/stereo in case you didn`t know. as nev said tho prices are up and down............ depends who watchin i spose dave

got the 45 somewhere ....................... french mercury ............ nice luther vandross vocal. seen the lp for £50+ but dont know if they sell. one on ebay to bid on tho. see what it sells for dave

harold melvin DLMTW was a 12 month old lp only track when thelma decided to cut it. HM orig was never a 45 in the states. only when thelmas version was no 1 in the states did philly decide to put the 45 out in europe. HM a classic......... thelmas version is average.................. jimmy summerville version is rubbish IMO DAVE
