Perception Records Discography
A West Country classic championed for decades by Hippo, for sure! Was lucky enough to find a copy of this last weekend...never owned one before! HOWEVER, I was pleasantly suprised with the flipside...very Funky Northern and dare I say would interest a lot of folk searching for that style!? Anyone given it go with the dancefloor yet? One to watch maybe?

Run For Your Life
Agree I've always gone for the Douglas Gibson cut, but am now having a re-think about the Luther Ingram as it is so more 'Detroity' sounding and gutsy. Never been a big fan of the vocal performance of the Harrisons, although the backing track means I can't ignore it! Glad to read that Cliff has been spinning the Luther flipside...I'd honestly not heard it before finding a copy of the disc at the weekend

Run For Your Life
Luther Ingram - Hurdy Gurdy Harrison Brothers - Bobalou Douglas Gibson - Tangerine Three versions all subtly different from each other, and all first rate hard-driving Northern Soul! Which was played out first? Are there any other versions out there? Luther's is the rarest, but which is your favourite? By the way, the flip of Luther 'I Need You Now' is damn good northern too...never heard that played out or spoken about!

Now there's a gutsy Northern floorshaker...love it.By coincidence I found a copy of Luther Ingram's original version on Hurdy Gurdy last weekend (pictured above)...anyone know the going rate? You have to wade through half a dozen pages of his HIB 45 before one pops up on Popsike from a few years ago!

Pat Hodges - Hme 1St & 2Nd Press
Any markings, or thoughts as to if one is a latter day press rather than an at the time press?

The Volumes 'gotta Give Her Love' On Astra
Hmmm...love the first half of the track, incredible begining even, but then it never really goes anywhere and I find myself wanting more from it. Their 'I Just Cna't Help Myself' / 'One Way Lover' double-sider however is faultless...both sides...well I say faultless I think the production of the sound of IJCHM could benefit from less treble! Fussy, I know!
