Many, many (many!) moons ago I recall buying a WD for £20...had the choice of a grey or red print copy...went for the red one to match my other WDs on Columbia! It was also the most I'd ever spent on a disc...oh the irony as but a few weeks previous I had paid £6 for a Dottie Cambridge stock copy at which point I said to my mum that I'd never, ever, spend more than £6 on a record! A fabulous stomper of a track...a true scene classic. I was young, very young....bless!

Three more interesting ones: Mary Wells - brilliant double sider....this is the West Coat pressing...possible demo? Kenny Gamble - fab mid-tempo...totally overlooked! Loretta Williams - French press Atco!

Bobby Andriani - I've Got To Find A Way - Fabulous mid-tempo...recommended.

How much does a UK CBS demo of the Jan Panter go for nowadays?

Does one know the Vic Henderson version...awesome big vocal beat ballad version! The flipside is a great Popcorn/Northern danceable vocal version of Dizzy Gillespie/Cal Tjader's 'Soul Sauce'!

Link doesn't work for me either. I know a nice mid-tempo number penned by Lori Burton, called, 'Stand By And Cry'...Betty Turner (US Liberty), Jan Panter (UK CBS) and Vic Henderson (US Coral - awesome!) all recorded it to good effect...is that the good side?!

If anyone has a RicTic WD of 'Headline news' that they are happy to let go, please PM me. Thanks in advance! My fave...too difficult to name but one...'My Kind Of Woman' and 'I Have Faith In You' are pretty much equal tops for me!

With a Dick Charles label on it?! The Mello Souls tracks were recorded and mastered at Virtue in Phillie. The Dick Charles studios were in NYC and for recording tracks in...they weren't a re-mastering service. Paging Mr.Parker.

I've lost the plot a bit...is it 'suggested' that the one Des has is, or is not, an original vintage studio acetate/cut?

Nice stock copy...I only ever seem to find WDs with the poorly affixed label. No doubt folk will now say they've never seen WDs!

Glad you got the LP, but keep the 45...you'd only regret it if you let it go! The backing vocals actually ruin it to my ears! I used to be able to pick the 45 up fairly reasonably and sell it on at a sensible price. Haven't had a spare in a while and am also intrested in hearing people's thoughts as to a valuation...stock and demo (RARE!).
