  4. Open to trades'n'offers are these two beauties...both in luverly condition: Terry Callier - Look at me now - Cadet demo ...and... Betty Turner - The winds kept laughing - Crescent Looking for like-for-like 60's Northern type trades, rather than lotsa pieces of lesser value/rarity, please. PM or email me.
  5. £100...and probably rising considering the number of enquiries I had about the copy above for sale...which is now sold!
  6. A luverly copy of the Dynamics awesome double-sider 'You make me feel so good' / 'Lights out' Vinyl is 9 out of 10 both sides...near mint. Labels have no ring-wear...just the file-copy code penned on it (both sides). Picture sleeve has no tears or creases. £75 + postage There's a soundfile on Youtube (not taken from this disc): >>> LISTEN HERE <<< Go here for more sales: >>> LOOK HERE <<< STILL AVAILABLE as of Sept. 23rd.
  7. Here are some of the sales discs available now...first come = first served
  8. Just updated the sales pages over on Anorak's Corner. Plenty of new titles, price reductions...and a new bunch of Japanese presses too! >>> PRESS HERE <<<
  9. I've played the flip a couple of times at the local collectors night over here...tis a mighty fine tune, as you say! He has a good website worth visiting: >>> jimmie Raye <<< 1967, "I Just Can't Take No More," featured Jimmie Raye singing live at the Purple Palace Cafe on 125th St. in New York City, for the film drama "Round Trip". The Director Pierre-Dominque Gaisseau's fillm synopsis.....A Frenchman heads for the Big Apple to start anew. He begins an affair with a struggling African American Model trying to leave the ghettos. Conflict. He's fascinated by her Harlem roots.
  10. Yes, I had one...was quite excited to get it at the time, as all one ever saw were red ones at that point! In fact I had a small bunch of them back in the late 80's...when we all used to buy via Discoveries/Goldmine magazines...happy days.
  11. 'Take it or leave it' I've always considered the WD to be tougher than the red stock copies. What say you?

  13. Have sold two black ones and one purple label variant too over the last 18 months. I was surprised that they didn't move quickly...£50 a piece eventually. GREAT track...love the sax break...I played it at a collectors night over here and it sounded great loud!

It has a count-in ('One two, one two ready kick it!') and additional MALE backing saying, 'For you babe', otherwise the same. Agree with Benji in that it isn't as good as the released 45.
  15. Just for reference, Ron Keith & The Ladies...this coupling also came out in Japan on a 7" during March 1976. The picture cover is amusing, though the cartoon on the back shows how to do 'The Hustle'! Their 'Get it on' / 'Can't live without you', also came out on a Japanese 7" during August 1975...with a slightly better looking arty sleeve too!
  16. Superb tracks! I remember YannV brought some of these freshly pressed white labels back in the Spring of 2000...I started playing IOTRT at the Capitol Soul Club nights during May 2000. The labels were plain and totally blank...the one pictured with the blue print is obviously trying to replicate an ARP test pressing. Rob - are you saying there were some original 60's presses?
  17. Didn't know that...that'll be interesting if it was...then again nothing surprises me when it comes to things that have emerged from the legendary 'Shelves of Anderson'...those mystical places that contained things that us mere mortals could only dream of! (Hi Gilly and Ady ...long time y'all!)
  18. Sure do enjoy it...as did my fellow collectors when I played it out last weekend (Thanks to fellow Soul-Sourcer NEV for selling me a copy not too long ago )
  19. I'm also rather partial to Billy's 'Eleanor Jean'...nowhere near as rare, but mighty fine never the less!
  20. 'This is magic'...isn't this a different bunch of chaps? Regardless, it is an AWESOME (and rare) slab of Northern Soul...pure class...sophisticated...tight male group harmonies etc etc...yes I kinda like this one! (Hi Michelle...long time )
  21. What a CLASSIC slab of Northern Soul. This was a tune that would make me travel 100's of miles to hear at the weekend! In fact it was THE tiune on the scene for a while...nice one Keb! Oddly enough I blew the dust off my copy and played it at a collectors night in Tokyo just the other weekend!
  22. Dottie Cambridge - Cry your eyes out - MGM stocker...1978 (or was it '77...hmmm)...a whole £6. An advance on my pocket money plus extra house chores were required for that one...alongside a courteous, 'I'll never spend more than that on a record, Mum!'
  23. It did indeed Wish I'd kept it I'll try and find the scan I kept of it to compare
  24. A rather nice'n'rare WD of this one is available within the sales pages of AnoraksCorner.com:
  25. The original 60's presses are vinyl test pressings not acetates. They have plain white labels with handwritten credits...'Oh not me' was also on the flipside. The story usually goes that there were only 6 or so copies, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were more...my copy went to Tim Brown many moons ago. The Washpan labelled copies were modern day presses from the 90's, but I believe they are legit.
