Aaages ago on ebay there was a 45 from I think someone who was more known for his production/writing than his singing tho I'm also sure he's got a 60s rarity out there too. Pretty sure it's Detroit and circa '73.Twas a really really nice mid tempo thing. Sorry but its bugging me who / what it is.Any help much appreciated. Regards Rich
  2. Can someone remind me what the deal was on that shed load of FORTE records that turned up a couple of years back. Found old stock from owners or re-pressed etc???? Cheers Rich
  3. I like it! 'Let It Flow' (although not to everyones taste) has that sleezy 'music to watch girls pole dance by' type thing! ............. Rich
  4. I'd be interested in seeing some too! They were my first All-Nighters at the tender age of 16! Thoroughly enjoyed them. (Dont have any pics tho...) Rich
  5. On the LP ' Take It Like You Give It' LINK TO ONE: HERE! Rich.
  6. The Jerma release has 'I Guess I Love You' on the flip as to 'Sweet Pea' on the Conduc 45. I'm assuming the versions of 'Sad Times' are the same.If your buying just for 'Sad Times' I'd go for the Conduc 45 - IGILY is an ok track but worth the extra $$$? Personally no.
  7. Just posted this on the Southern Soul Group Yahoo Mark - Am sure someone on there will know! Rich
  8. From now on if I sell anything on ebay & using paypal as a method of payment I send them all recorded delivery by second class to shave a few pence off. Overseas I've always sent registered etc since been ripped off by a German or swiss guy for an Inell Young 45. Frustrating but they have you by the balls at times. Rich
  9. Hi Russ Tony Rounce had one of these up recently - Don't know if it's gone or not. Best Rich
  10. I highly HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the Wee Gee 45. But for the flip - A sublime version of the Dramatics 'In The Rain' Sure not everyone will like it but play this bugger loud! Especially when the horns kick in! REFOSOUL CLIP: HERE Honestly for a few quid - C'mon guys! Rich
  11. I would think the likes of CDBaby and other various digital sources are putting some pressure on those specialists that sell CD's these days especially re. new product. Not surprised to see Woolies discontinuing CDS. Rich
  12. Cooo me first Want posted. Has anyone got a copy of the above LP? It's not a rare one or owt and I'm not that bothered about condition as long as the vinyls' clean and no major damage to sleeve. If anyone can help please PM me. Best regards Rich
  13. HERE! 45 on Ebay at the moment HH. Click the link above! Best regards Rich
  14. Great post Jason. Good to see someone whos smoked their peace pipe today! Rich (Thanks for the 45 price btw).
  15. I'm not quite sure about that Sebastian as Steve Plumb has already said he played KGF out at the Orwell BH do (Is that marketing?). James (unless I am wrong) was purely expressing his opinion on the disc which has - in all great debates - snow balled and spiralled into the 4 pager we have now. In my previous post I expressed an opinion of the dividing and/or seperate strands of black dance music across the globe and it's clear to me who and where I would hear this played. Those seem like my kind of nights as opposed to say an all oldies night and I am sure that ability to choose would ring true for most if not all soul fans in the UK. You go where you are likely to hear your favourite sub-genre of soul. As it goes Sebastian I very much enjoy your own mixes and musical taste which is varied interesting and above all enjoyable!!! Rich
  16. Sammy Lee REFOSOUL CLIP: HERE! Fantastic record - And b*****y hard to buy let alone find! Best regards Rich

Cheers Bob / Steve. Yep looked through the usual places - just seems a whole lot missing and to be honest I dont think I've ever seen anything else. I have the Waiters 45s & the Mystic 5. Unless the numbering hasn't (as can be) any releases - it's intriguing to think what else is on the label. Best regards Rich
  19. I think there's a lot of mileage in embracing tunes such as KGF et al not just on the northern scene exclusively but on the various scenes that exist around the UK Europe and the rest of the world. I think one PLUS for incorparating tunes such as KGF is the introduction/interest of more young and/or new folk to the scene. Which can be only a GOOD thing I'm sure all would agree (Or not!) The scene in Europe seems to be very youthful in parts and the musical policy seems to reflect that be it northern/crossover/funkysoul crossover. The UK scene has a history of splitting off and arguing amongst itself which has in turn spawned the various sub genres and post appreciation of crossover/70s tunes for example. Are we to see this again with another metamorphasis and 'new branches' of the UK Soul scene being nurtured? The scene in the UK has lasted as long as it has due to either dedication to the original format or those who have chosen to seek a new path. I for one applaud anyone who dedicates years to either and hope that in the 21st century it continues to do so. Some of us will stay on the route we know while others will venture off onto a new track. However we all come to a common juntion its just that some of us will turn left and others right!! Its a love of MUSIC that keeps us all here right? Best regards Rich (Listening to his deep 45s all day & now some deep funk mixes on Soulstrut.com!)
  20. Hi Steve 'Neon' is the flip of the Young Turks (just checked on Manship) funny how these things stick in the mind. There must be a whole slew of 45s that sound great played out and sound a bit duff at home. Remember hearing Rod Kings 'Dont Be Afraid' (SPACE) out once many years ago - Bought a copy took it home and... just didnt sound right at all. OK but not as good as what I heard played out! Rich

  22. See post #9 Chris.. Here's the Yum Yums REFOSOUL Clip: YUM YUMS VERSION - Still think the Kittens version is best. Yum Yums version rarest? Rich
  23. Thanks for that Steve (Note to self: PLEASE remember to play 'b' sides) Agree the BG is not a great 45 or owt - Does sound better played out / very loud! Am sure there's more versions out there somewhere. Best Rich
