I have posted this in freebasing as it not s northern soul tune. BUT - look at the comments on the u tube post. AMAZING ! Really ACE to see how soul music is still making patterns after all this time There are pages and pages of comments from everywhere all over the world enthusing about the Phyllis version of perfidia and what it means to them. Check out the comments from the people who know the tune as part of their life history and the music fans who have just discovered the record. When I read the conversations on soul source - with everyone concerned about the age of everyone and who is going to care about what everyone did and what are our families going to do with all our records. Stop for a min music will find a way out. Yes the internet I also imagine it will be also shared in ways we have not even imagined yet Phyllis didn't make a lot of records and she was from Jamaica - not Detroit or Chicago Yet 50 years later there is a serious conversation online today about how lovely her records were / are So the quality of her output and not her fame at the time it seems will ensure her place in the future And so it should
  2. This is a great double sided overlooked Chicago tune on the fantastic Midas label The flip side is also really nice
  3. Another good cheap Bobby Jones record
  4. Everyone should have a copy of this soulful banger, great dancer
  5. I love this, never understood why it’s so cheap , great record
  6. The term under played and overlooked springs to mind Cleveland Robinson
  7. I have no problem with most aspects of a records label , initials of previous owners , artist signature, radio station stamps etc. have lots of Jamaican 45s where the artists and title are scratched out completely it’s just patina on a records journey If you are collecting records that must be mint obviously you may not accept these types of marks If you are willing to accept writing on label etc then you will always expect the grade to be lowered , regardless I think the difference with northern soul artists is most of them are really not that famous in the big scheme of things So you don’t have the fanatical autograph hunting that takes place within the likes of football and famous movie stars and music legends I remember my son paid 500 quid for a framed signed Mason Mount Chelsea football shirt with providence - a few weeks before he left for Man City I might add😂 But we love our in the main obscure hero’s so to have a signatures by an artist that you have such a connection to their records is really nice, especially as most of them are gone now. I have a signature from Ray Pollard from the 100 club, to Gaz with love Ray pollard. When I see it it reminds me of the night, the emotion, it’s a lovely moment captured with his signature So if I have a Bob Marley signature on a record or a Beatles record signed by the band I think with providence that would generate interest and increase the value. I believe there are price guides covering these type of items As we are collecting obscure records by obscure artists I don’t really think signed copy’s are going to increase the value , in fact it would have to lower the grade to WOL That’s my ten pence worth 👍
  8. Just noticed the u tube post is both sides Coming back to you is the side for me I need love - nice doo wop soulful tune , but must admit I had never flipped my 45 over , never heard it before 😂😂😂
  9. I have these two 45s by Willie Jones The metro 45 is a mental rocking rnb thing that had plays on the European Mod scene The storm 45 is obviously the u tube post Jazzy mod rnb of the highest order imo Just a great rnb finger snapper
  10. That’s bloody brilliant 😂 I have tried everything on my phone Thanks
  11. I still can’t enlarged this My I phone 12 must be too old or something I have never seen a red styrene issue of jimmy ricks btw Stock Issues on the vinyl coloured variant of course , but nope, never seen a red styrene issue

  13. I always loved this soulful garage stomper Great vocal and ridiculous Hammond Not an easy record to find Dunno it it has ever been played on soul scene , it will of on the Mod scene I image
  14. Soulful stomping garage at its best Really hard to find imho I know it’s had plays here and there but Should be massive It’s brilliant

  17. So it seems we are waiting for someone to post up the bootleg scan and matrix details atm 👍
  18. Probably east coast west cost variant I have the original east coast bring it back home to me Linda lyndell on volt which abet it later 60s but has a completely different label design from west coast press
  19. This is an original , you can see the deadwax matrix as far as I know this is the original and there is the boot , never had one so don’t have the deadwax info
  20. And the Darrow Fletcher was decent price in great condition it’s not easy these days on London if it wasn’t for the easy availability of the USA groovy copy I would’ve thought the UK would go for loads more A lovely UK piece to have
  21. Fair play. Lovely to see a real good picture of him. I love picking up original photos / publicity shots etc Always scoop them up when I come across them.
  22. Fantastic 👍 where on earth did you find that?
  23. I thought she lived in New York early 60s first before moving to Chicago recording as Deena Johnson in New York on wild deuce and other labels
  24. You never know Although Jo Armstead was mainly based in New York and Chicago in the 60s
  25. Thanks for that. I wonder if he was aware that is 45s are still loved and collected by Soul fans I’m sure he must of because of the Kent CD release of I’m so thankful which was released before he passed I still can’t understand why he only made three 45s at the time. His singing voice is lovely, such a shame he didn’t release anything else Perhaps we will never know why He left us with 4 special and amazing 45s IMO Good enough eh
