  1. Ultimate Blacks - I Like To Be/The World Is A Turmoil (Hitstown) Vg+ (visual grade, as per all copies plays with significant background noise) OFFERS OVER £200 Killer double sided grail that so very rarely comes to market. Topside is a haunting lowrider cut that’s hugely sought after by sweet soul collectors. Flip is a virtually unknown funk edged group dancer that sounds bang on for now (never before on YouTube this side hear it below). Last sale on Discogs was at £600! Visually this one grades a strong Vg+ but as with all copies there is significant background noise due to a pressing fault. Playback is slightly better on the funk edged side where the recording overpowers the background to a degree. ***HEAR IT*** (clips from both sides of actual 45 can be heard on my YouTube channel below. OFFERS OVER £200 by DM please. Will sell as soon as an acceptable offer is received. https://youtube.com/shorts/Mo55mlss4to?feature=shared https://youtube.com/shorts/uHFpVnHUGuw?feature=shared PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 2. The Starlights – Soul Road (Major Records) Mint- £75 Last copy! Managed to bag three of these off a US contact, killer garage soul dancer already on one or two playlists. An acetate of the same recording (albeit under a slightly different name) sold on eBay around 18 months ago for around £900 presumably assumed to be unreleased! One to snap up now before it inevitably becomes a three figure 45! https://youtu.be/BvHBC2ZTRXU?si=bNOJh3hze-V4eiwN Toby Oak and Son (c/up) Mint- £50 I have a VERY small quantity of this current c/up, killer funk edged banger that sounds bang on for now. Already sold half my stock to four well-known upfront DJs so only a matter of time before this one goes up in price. Another Gene Yarbrough/Riddles etc. – be quick! https://youtube.com/shorts/zFZ07Zerboc?feature=shared Johnny Truitt – Sad Times (Soul Unlimited) Mint- £50 Funky crossover circa ’73 with bags of potential, tough 45 too. Don’t ignore the deep flip either! https://youtu.be/ylQf--PHpSg?si=tFF4xE9Iu7seEDJs Johnny Riviera and Tequlia Brass – The Clown (Cotique) Vg++ £50 My favourite of the three, a potential monster of a tune IMHO. Latin infused ballad that’s an absolute joy. Seems pretty under the radar will appeal to northern and lowrider fans I suspect. Love it! https://youtu.be/NY1GDrE5T4E?si=Dvh2lfYMk3KzOyJW PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £5.00 recorded, £9.00 registered and insured, Europe £10 tracked and signed. 3. Thee Nite Dreamers - Later For You (Alwin) Vg+ £150 Super tough garage soul banger with loads northern potential. Think this has probably had a few plays in the past without ever really taking off but feels right for now. https://youtu.be/WkmhxQooziA King Edward & His B.D.’s - MYLTT Vg (plays better) £100 Must be their rarest 45? Hardly ever seen anywhere. Great slab of garage soul, with bags of potential to crossover to northern rooms. Lots of light hairlines but plays lower end Vg+ a bargain IMHO. https://youtu.be/MExdeuVZ3v4 Skeets Williams and The Merger – I Don’t Care (Commonwealth) Ex £50 Had plays in Europe thanks to forward thinking DJs like Henning Borm. Funk edged northern at its very best! Will rocket in price as it’s far from common, if you missed out on a copy when I managed to secure a small number of store stock copies a few months ago then here’s your chance to redeem yourself. Be quick, will be four figures before long! PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £5.00 recorded, £9.00 registered and insured, Europe £10 tracked and signed. USA £15 tracked. 5. Third Point - Poor Boy/Spirit (Tide) Mint- £50 Killer twofer here, tip side is a gorgeous lowrider tune that’s still flying under the radar as good as many three times the price IMHO, flip it for a funk edged 70s northern oldie that’s ripe for revival. Seems to be around the £75 mark these days but plenty of room to grow IMHO. https://youtu.be/qaj9aGHuPuo https://youtu.be/oWLzxbfNGTo Webbs - We Belong Together/I Want You Back (Verve) Ex £40 Sublime Lowrider group harmony that seems criminally cheap given the current demand for this type of sound (that said seen this at £75 and above so on the rise perhaps already). Flip it for some superior (and seemingly forgotten) frantic northern group harmony. Double bubble. (N.B. Believe this is slightly rarer as has artists name misspelled as Webbs.) https://youtu.be/dhUTPOzXQJU https://youtu.be/_ej0hgpHt98 Justice V - That Certain Tenderness/Things Get Worse (Panorama) Mint- £20 From the garage label that never stops giving comes this totally under the radar double sider. Things Get Worse is a thumping garage soul dancer that sounds right for now, flip is a lovely ballad with horns, backing harmonies and a gorgeous arrangement. You can hear both sides at the link below, one to watch IMHO! https://youtu.be/ayGuVLXF9U0 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £5.00 recorded, £9.00 registered and insured, Europe £10 tracked and signed. USA £15 tracked. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. 6. Monique - Truth/No Body’s Baby (Maurci) Ex £300 Well it was £2k only a couple of years ago thanks to significant demand from overseas and the fact that it’s rarely appeared for sale for many years leading to a madness eBay auction price. Of course copies have appeared since (well they would wouldn’t they!) and it’s come down to a more modest figure, although still seems to sell for anywhere between £300-£600. Lovely copy of the much, much rarer ‘magic hat’ design label. Still one of the best records ever IMHO - just sublime and, now the fuss is over, affordable again. Flip is a northern dancer worth noting although isn’t in the same class as her other 45s. https://youtu.be/No2_SW26nqw?si=KI7OvbPk2zPkfA5y Webbs - We Belong Together/I Want You Back (Verve) Ex £50 Sublime Lowrider group harmony that seems criminally cheap given the current demand for this type of sound (that said seen this at £75 and above so on the rise perhaps already). Flip it for some superior (and seemingly forgotten) frantic northern group harmony. Double bubble. (N.B. Believe this is slightly rarer as has artists name misspelled as Webbs.) https://youtu.be/dhUTPOzXQJU https://youtu.be/_ej0hgpHt98 Wallace Brothers - I Need Someone (Jewel) Mint- £30 Demand has seen the price on this rise and rise, it wasn’t long ago it was a tenner, last couple I’ve seen have been £60! Killler lowrider 45 that will likely rise further in the months ahead. Don’t let the label damage put you off either, vinyl is Mint- PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 7. Syd Dale - Action Man (Impress 10”) Vg+ £75 Never been a big fan of instrumentals bar a few notable exceptions (Frank Foster, Mike Vickers and one or two others). This exceptionally hard to locate 10” of composer, pianist and conductor Syd Dale compositions that for me is every bit as good and reminiscent of those aforementioned exceptions. Breathtakingly brilliant and would have set many a dance floor of the past on fire. Not seen on any playlists probably thanks to obscurity and rarity - a sleeping monster IMHO! https://youtu.be/AnMr9xUR8Ic Romans - He Don’t Love You (MY) Vg (plays Vg+) £50 ***HEAR IT*** Sold my last one for £150 in decent condition, this one has some pretty dramatic looking marks, but plays Vg+ and easily as well as the copy I sold at twice the price (***HEAR IT*** clip below from actual copy). Had a bit of exposure in Europe but barely any here, fabulous garage soul/R&B on a very collectible label. https://youtube.com/shorts/hCGwUTq8_lA?feature=shared Justice V - That Certain Tenderness/Things Get Worse (Panorama) Mint- £30 From the garage label that never stops giving comes this totally under the radar double sider. 8. Gene Yarbrough - The Meeting Place part 1 & 2 (Jerma) Mint- £100 I am inundated with enquiries every time I list this, and what copies there were have dried up completely. It’s last Discogs sale was £100 and have seen at £150 recently, testimony to how demand has grown and grown in the few months since I listed the first copy where it was virtually unknown. The A Side has a couple of YouTube entries, but demand is all about the flip ‘part 2’ which has only recently been added courtesy of @BarrieWaddington aka @A45Heaven (who’s no bad judge of a 45 given he was responsible for discovering many of Stafford’s finest plays and plenty more before and after). A killer 45 IMHO and one that has yet to reach its peak price IMHO. https://youtu.be/B1FBMgXgLUo?si=XWWPzKyKIPalWpiv https://youtu.be/xuk448cSt5w?si=zuC_7H9CRFFI4Zzo The Four - Good Thing Going (Nashville North) Ex £150 Stupidly rare garage soul stormer that’s had plays on Europe and at more progressive venues in recent times, already started to cross over to the wider northern scene having had plays at Dark Horses and elsewhere. This one won’t stay at this price for long last one I had went privately to a top DJ. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/9bam_gKVjPs Michael Burkes And The Contrasts - Can’t Fight The Feeling (SMS) Mint- £75 Hypnotic funk edged dancer from the label that gave us Papa Bear and The Cubs! Arguably rarer given the few copies to have surfaced and clearly lesser known. Only the one somewhat hidden YouTube clip for this. Has sold for significantly more than this too! https://youtu.be/tNqlKBS9-jI?si=cjDk18HaLx1-Hlw6 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Plenty of northern crossover appeal here too. Very very tough 45 on the label! This one has a different flip side to other copies (only one I’ve seen with this too!) and it’s not a bad time in it’s own right. https://youtu.be/TvOR94SV_cM PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. This blew me away when I first heard it and have been trying stock pile copies before letting on but there’s none out there! One play and you’ll be hooked! Played by Brian Maguire slightly pitched (hear below) and all the better for it. https://youtu.be/8_rhYYtpD68 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 11. Accidentals - These Days (Harbor) Ex £600 Monster Garage Soul that’s currently one of the hottest 45s highly sought after in the US, UK and Europe. An absolute killer and very very reluctant sale from my own personal collection. Incredibly rare 45 that never shows up, pretty sure the press run was only 500 in first place! Condition is faultless this is as close to Mint- as it could be, there a couple of very very faint paper scuffs (DNAP) that can be seen under the light but it’s otherwise a beautiful copy. This only ever changes hands privately and the last two have been £600 so I’ll stick at that (still has away to go IMHO). You are unlikely to see another in this condition, don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/RP7tcKO6X8c PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 12. Christian Soldiers - Won’t Turn Back (Song Bird) Ex £40 Absolutely love this one, infectious R&B style Gospel that’s perfect for current trends and playlists. Had sone exposure in Europe and at more progressive UK venues but not widely known and another hard one on the label. Lovely copy! https://youtu.be/P09bdjUevFw?si=jYdxPuRn98yLAYlW Reverend Cleophus Robinson - Elijah Rock (Peacock) Ex £40 Another brilliant R&B infused Gospel banger that’s had some exposure but with plenty of legs left in it. Perfect now sound IMHO and a snip at forty notes! https://youtu.be/0GdnAZ0UjI8?si=5q80kLZ3upXzqK6U PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 13. Herb Johnson And The Impacts - Where Are You/I’m So Glad (Brunswick Gold Reissue) Mint- £50 With Toxsan originals never showing up (last Discogs was nearly four years ago and sold at £500, so who know what it would go for now), and Brunswick second press copies at least half that price, this official Brunswick 2nd issue has seen a steady rise in price. Big demand for the lowrider side and rightly so, plus you get a northern classic on the flip! https://youtu.be/J1BLCVDhQj4?si=_Z6PKPhhEvCFMMY7 https://youtu.be/eDSVgUyZeuU?si=OIICw1UIEjJQgOCz Wallace Brothers - I Need Someone (Jewel) Mint- £45 Demand has seen the price on this rise and rise, it wasn’t long ago it was a tenner, last couple I’ve seen have been £60! Killler lowrider 45 that will likely rise further in the months ahead. Don’t let the label damage put you off either, vinyl is Mint- The Shellettes - Must Be Something I’m Doin’ Wrong / Soldier Boy Over There (Power) Mint £35 Otherwise known as La’ Shell and The Shellettes, one of Canada’s finest girl groups, here presented in their seemingly very rare US release of this lowrider bomb backed with a sublime mid tempo girl group cut. The Canadian one flew out when I last had one four years ago! Not widely known this one, yet! https://youtu.be/YVF5L26tNbE https://youtu.be/LZg_4sP8T1g PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 14. Summits - Sophisticated Lady/Let’s Love Now (La Salle) Ex (one small mark DNAP away from Mint-) £100 Funk edged Chicago northern that’s had plays in the past and more recently in more upfront/funk edged venues and rooms. An absolute banger IMHO and one that if it were rarer would probably be massive (always reminds me of Walter and The Admirations this one and that’s no bad thing!). The group harmony flip will have its fans too and one that seems to have evaded the attention of the lowrider crowd thus far. Great 45 at a great price. https://youtu.be/H2ahKLNB47w?si=RDskUTiizRnC0nOM https://youtu.be/5xApO5P4HPw?si=3i8O5qkS9Dzueub2 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 15. Jackson Brothers - I Gotta Hear It From You (Providence WD) Ex £250 A perennial in demander from the halcyon days of Stafford where it was c/up as Rufus Lumley I think first by Dean Anderson then by Keb Darge. Demand has continued to grow and still has a way to go IMHO. Seen sell at £300-400 in recent times at Vg+ or above, tough to find and this is a lovely copy. That intro still gets me every time. 16. Tommy Dodson with Daton Combo - Love, Love, Love (Dodson) Vg (what looks like minor heat damage to run in causes light noise during first few revolutions ONLY, plays strong Vg+ thereafter - priced accordingly ***HEAR IT***) £125 Absolute killer R&B private press from the ‘One Day Love’ man, that’s long been a very tough to locate 45. Can only assume rarity and obscurity has held this one back because it’s absolutely brilliant. Still sounds right for today. Seen at more than double this price in the past and, despite the floor, this is still a very playable copy! ***HEAR IT*** clip below from actual 45. https://youtube.com/shorts/zcgGkWNFALw?feature=shared PayPal as friends and family or add 4%.
