  12. To term a record a "pop record" on the Northern/Rare soul scene is a derogatory term. It doesn't mean file under popular music! It means the tune is not good enough to be played and rated by any self respecting, established punter or collector! But everyone has to start somewhere. So maybe easy poppy type venues need to exist as well as hard core all-nighters! I didn't start Northern Soul on the Saturday night train to Wigan Casino allnighter. I used to go to a local disco and see these trendy in-people with there hold-all bags all lined up. Then watch a mass exodus about 10.30 for the train to Wigan. They will have though we were pop fans dancing to easy Motown and chart soul! But it was part of my start into my obsession with Northern Soul!
  13. Hi, I have sent you a PM.
  14. The 70's bootleg was on Cross-Town. Reissued on UK labels Right-On and Inferno. Recent remakes on Red-Bird and Soulation. The original Eskee demo is a nice multicoloured gloss label on high quality vinyl. The original issue is dark blue screen print label on styrene plastic. Original demo is Bell sound stamped from memory!
  15. I got some good records from Bill Nadolny's (Paisley Haze records) auction. Also some mint Delettes etc, from Vernon Edwards at Little Rock, Arkansas. In the early days Craig Moerer used have lots of great records at low prices. After the internet started just about everything went to UK prices. Also Frank Merrell of Saturday Night Music had some great auctions. If I got my note book out there will be many more. It was all more exciting then because you could get some great records at great prices. The internet spoiled a lot, but on the flip side I have had some great deals from the net as well.
  16. Sounds like this first tune is called "Treason" by The Parliments. Sounds good, was it a released as proper 45 record?
  17. I wouldn't like to hear it at a Northern Soul allnighter. If it's a divvy soul night, I suppose some punters will like it! I remember it from the charts, but it might be a fresh new sound for some people!
  18. Yes but what condition are those copies in! This copy was really great condition. I am not justifying the price, but condition must play a part!
  19. I watch certain things, but it is very limited in selection. I seem to have seen all the good things and I can't find anything new that's good to watch. I will keep it as the things I do watch I enjoy. P.S. I did enjoy the latest episode of Better Call Saul, yesterday.
  20. Because looking at Discogs, Soul Source sales, eBay, lists etc, a lot of things do not sell like they used to.
  21. There used to be a big market for semi knowns and cheaper collectors records. Now it only seems to be big collectors items or the latest thing a DJ needs for his set. I'm still chipping away at collecting things I like.
  22. I have never had a Jayboy copy to compare. All I can say is the Dade copies play loud and clear with great fidelity.
  23. Aww, I was gonna buy them records off you😜. Can you get them flat again?😊
  24. Hi,. I have sent you a personal message. Thanks.
  25. "Trying To Get Back To You Girl" - Jackey Beavers - Dade. SOLD. Real quality record from the great Jackey Beavers. The record has a rather long intro, which to my mind has held it back slightly, but once the beat kicks in it is a superb 1970's classic dancer. Always fills the dance floor. The copy on the sound clip is for reference and just to hear the tune. The copy for sale is pictured below the sound clip. Ex+ condition with a drill hole in label.
