  1. Blackpool Mecca then popular at the Casino and M's Great record from those days! Proper allnighter record!
  2. Some lowlife people will say anything to get their hands on that kind of money!
  3. Double Cookin' - Checkerboard Squares - Villa Hold On, Help Is On The Way - G. Davis & R.Tyler - Parlos Bird Walking - Emanons Orch - All Brothers
  4. The web site has all the contact info. Tel no, 01913704000 To donate, collections@beamish.org.uk Just Google-: Beamish, the Living Museum of the North
  5. Hi, They look in very nice condition. If you haven't had a takers you could offer them to Beamish Living History museum over in the North East. They have just extended with a 1950's themed street. Houses, Cinema and shops all built to emulate the 1950's.
  6. Yes it was a big sound and first played as a instrumental, which is the flip side of the vocal. I can't remember anyone playing the vocal till a few years later after it was booted.
  7. You really need to send photos to be sure, but it is probably an original west coast Monarch pressed demo.
  8. "Lets Get Together" - Andrew Brown - 4 Brothers. Original first issue 45 rpm. £100 plus £5 postage. The condition is a nice Excellent.
  9. An older guy who lives across the road from me saw my postie delivering records. He brought over a pile of records he had bought in the 60's for me to play. A load of pop stuff in there, but a couple of Bobby Blands on Vocalion and a great original 506 Tamla Motown of "All For You". He has got no interest in selling, and as far as I know they are back in the bottom of his bedroom wardrobe!!
  10. Ann Perry was a good result, more than it's ever sold for I would guess. The prices of the others were maybe down a little because I thought the gradings/conditions were not as good as usual.
  11. Tha Vibrations is currently still available. Alltime Northern Soul classic. "The Girl Across The Street" - Moses Smith Dionn. Genuine first issue original with the correct run out groove details. Nice VG+ condition. Plays great, record flat and on-centre. £130 plus £5 postage. "Will You Wait - Otis Brown- Lujuna. £25 Mint- plus £2.70 post. "Pick Me"/You Better Beware" - Vibrations - Okeh demo in great Ex condition. £25 + £2.70 post.
  12. I see by these results, the silly prices are not just reserved for Manships auctions. Although there are a few bargains mixed in these sales.
  13. Top condition on this one, Mint- Great Chicago 60's soul that shares the same backing track as "Count The Days" by The Magnetics. £250 plus £10 insured post.
  14. I remember it was a massive record with the Northern Soul fraternity at the allnighters in the mid-1970's💫. Great record, but it doesn't have the kudos with the collectors, it once had!
  15. "I Can't Let You Go" - Soulful Twins. A Mint- original that looks and plays great. Same backing track as "Count The Days". Looks better condition than the one sold this week on Manships auction. £300. + £9 insured post. "World Without Sunshine" - Sandra Phillips - Broadway. Rare original white demo in Ex+ condition. £125.+ £3.50 post. "Where Were You" - Four Sonics - Triple B. Ex condition original, looks and plays great. Fabulous Detroit. £40. Plus £3 post.
  16. Great record is the Magnificent 7. The flip side is a lot slower but really good as well.
  17. OVO means if I go to a venue, the DJ's have experience, knowledge and have shown some commitment in getting the records together. Otherwise it might be someone who has learned what to play off the internet and bought a lot of repros and reissues to DJ with. They don't have much experience and knowledge and have shown very little commitment. They might know what to play, but they don't know why!
  18. The point is, that if it was unreleased before the Grapevine legal UK issue there is no other legitimate way to play it, so Grapevine becomes the first release. In the USA by 1970, you would have struggled to give any deleted record away for a £1 but that doesn't make them worthless now.
  19. Yes these things never change! "If you let me DJ at your venue, I'll give you a DJ spot at mine!🤔" "It's ok, it doesn't matter that you have only been into Northern Soul for 6 weeks"🙂!
  20. "Destroy That Boy" The Happy Cats. A great record and dancer that was unreleased on an original label. "Rosemary What Happened" Richard Wylie as the Grapevine release is a better unreleased cut, and I think a better cut than the Karen original. This yellow Grapevine series is the true Casino Classics label, as every release was based on records that were being played at the Casino nighters.
  21. All time Northern Soul classic doublesider. Original issue in great Mint- condition. Looks and plays great. Definite original with the authenticating hard to see raised numbers/ letters under the matt paper label. £350. Includes fully insured postage.
  22. I noticed the auction description on this great record is mixed up! This is the correct release order. The Gold label release Number 102 is the first issue. The Yellow label is the later release, Number 103. Both releases have different flip sides as well.
  23. All time Northern Soul classic doublesider that I remember from the mighty Wigan Casino allnighters. Original issue in great Mint- condition. Looks and plays great. Definite original with the hard to see raised numbers/ letters under the label. I have tried to show them on the photos. £350. + £9 fully insured postage.
  24. That's something like my journey through the different era's of Northern Soul. I call them classics now and don't call them oldies anymore. It's all up to individuel perspective. We used to call records oldies back in the mid seventies because they had been played 5 years earlier at the Twisted Wheel. Yet there are records that are called sixties newies that have been played for 30 years or more!
  25. Gold label is the first issue, number 102. Yellow label is later release, number 103. Different flip side on each release.
