LT & The Soullful Dynamics on Solo is a beautiful lilting crossover cut as well! Nev> Fred Williams is a great record, I think in the Midwest Funk notes it said you can almost imagine the tumbleweeds blowing across the road when you hear it, its very desolate and haunting. Would actually love to hear it out, especially if it does work in a club enviroment. Must get off my arse and get to a night BG is playing at. Touches of the Small Society in there too?! I haven't heard a bad Florentine record yet, love all of the three i know. Does anyone have a discography / label info?

Jackey Beavers, Question ?
I'd second that

Theron & Darryl i can understand but i'm very surprised that Fred Williams has been well received in soul clubs. The vocal is very soulful but the pace of the 45 isn't condusive to dancefloor action. I'm making it sound like i don't think its fantastic though, which isn't true. Been a fan of it since it came out on the Midwest comp a few years ago.

Quinvy has had one at £500 for a while, and its not sold unless he has forgotten to update his list.

And it did sound good in a venue the size of the Stables, as a record it works in big halls ect. 'Here comes the good part!'

Tim Harris, Les Mack & Impacts
the Bobby Robinson one must be really tough as well then?

Tim Harris, Les Mack & Impacts
Theres a vg Menzola from a year ago that went for $200. But yes, the Timco more common.

A very raw sound! Black Aces of Soul is a nice bouncy funksoul which i imagine must of had some action about the place?

The thing about this 45 is its funky but still has a strong repetitive 70's beat that most soul clubs can deal with. Faster, breakier funk cuts are where traditionalists tend to switch off i would imagine?

"Heres a few clips of very varying tracks. I think the term 'funk' in any context , even when followed by soul, scares traditionalists. Its an innappropriate term really. But, will have to do i guess! Paul Sadot - Funky Soul Mix - " To be fair, as much as i think Gamith is an awesome record, its got to be classed as out and out funk hasn't it? and i'm not surprised it scares people in soul nights off! But if you can get away with it good funking work! Fab 45 Also a big fan of the Cosmic Universal Band style tracks......the quality of the production in stuff like this is second to none. Actually quite an exciting time for the scene if more 45s of this form are played! Cesar's Allstars anyone?!

Tim Harris, Les Mack & Impacts
You see Tim Harris about here and there. It also came out on Bobby Robinson but very rare. Les Mack probably about £500 too? Never see this for sale. JM's one a few weeks back was the first one i'd seen personally. Nice 45 at first but grates the more you hear it. Used to really like it a while back.
