  2. dont know where your going with this thread derek... do you mean quotes from artists or quotes from charactures on the scene.. if the latter... how about... "i dont mind piss and shit , but i cant stand filth" BRUN (wakefield.. at bradford nighter circa.. mid 90's)

  4. correct, a very hard record, i think the winners of the lillie and combinations auctions should be very pleased with themselves, if it had been me who won them both i'd be like a dog with two dicks
  5. marc, you've just described my life circa 1982 / 3, well almost, i never worked for lufthansa, and i dont recall ever writing a letter to ady
  6. thats one of the very few copies that i've seen in the flesh, it resided at my house for a few weeks in the 80's, along with all the rest of his records when dave was between houses, i was hoping he'd forget where he left them
  7. in 30 years of collecting i have only seen around 20 / 30 copies of this record, either in the flesh or on sales lists / internet, hed the chance to buy a couple in the 80's but like a plank i declined they were priced at £100 and £75 respectivley, a bloody hard record to get, if i had the money i would have had that one off ebay, i personally think whoever won it got a pretty good deal
  8. depends , they were definatly halcyon days for me, because thats when i started going, keb, guy, ian clark, rob marriot etc were playing records that were right up my street, i have to say, most of the 80's venues previously mentioned were pretty well attened, however, lets take off the rose tinted glasses regards stafford, brilliant music, yes, but most of the time the place was half empty, but having said that, still my favourite venue ever

  14. cant comment on this latest volume as i havn't seen it, however i did receive the first one as an unwanted christmas present a few years ago, i enjoyed thumbing through it looking at the scans of the record labels, however i did find the top ten charts at the back a bit tedious, but overall a pretty good coffee table book, there you go mr roberts, favourable enough for you
