Good luck with this one guys, it may even tempt me to attend as it looks a good lineup, with the right folks promoting it who know what the venue's about.

What a great bit of news Even more so because it really looks like you're going to make Burnley a 'not to be missed' night. Four times a year means each one will have a real buzz not just on the night itself but in the build up to it as well, as a monthly nighter it was too easy to think 'doesn't matter if I miss it this time, I'll go next month instead'. But it's a long gap between visits if you miss one now and I think that will really encourage people to make the effort to get there, which hopefully will mean it's a packed night and electric atmosphere everytime. Knowing you two guys fairly well it's clear that the only reason you're doing this is down to your passion for the music and in particular for the spirit of the 'Burnley Bat Cave' that Phil originally created. Would have been great if Phil had opted to join you in this, despite a few personal fall outs between Phil and myself I will always say that as the promoter of Burnley he did a superb job and built something special for everyone that went. With Sean and Karls' enthusiasm, DJ line ups like the one for January and the same sound system used by Phil this is going to be something special and I'm looking forward to it already.......there will be a car load of us making the journey up from Coventry without doubt

I've been wanting to hear Fred & Cliff play again as I've only heard them once which was memorable - as are all the DJ's on that lineup... I'm going to pencil this one in and hope that everyone who's able to support you does and those that aren't able leave you alone to promote freely and without malice. It's about the music after all

- News: Sad News Dave McCadden RIP
This was the obituary in the Guardian for Dave [06 ] , Dave Purdy was his stage name on the stand up circuit & Ive enclosed some picture`s of Dave doing his act. He won the best newcomer award & is presented with the trophy by Johnny Vegas at the legendary Frog & Bucket comedy nights Obituary Dave Purdy Peter Sharratt The Guardian, Wednesday 22 February 2006 00.02 GMT Article history In the last five years, Salford comedian Dave Purdy watched his mother and his father die of cancer. "I knew the odds were not in my favour with cancer in the family, along with smoking and drinking, but I've always been a gambler. That's probably why I went into comedy." Earlier this month, Dave's own brain tumour killed him, aged 48.If his face looked lived in, it is probably because the tenant over-indulged. His wonky nose and lopsided grin were well known on the northern comedy circuit, where Dave sought to emulate his hero, Frank Skinner. A seizure last September led to a diagnosis of inoperable cancer, but it did not take long for his fellow comics to suggest he would not be needing his bus pass any longer. In his blunt way, Dave felt the need to talk plainly about his journey to meet death. He went round the house, throwing out things that he knew would never be needed by his wife Yvonne or his 10-year-old daughter. He went to the Comedy Balloon stand-up club, which he used to run, to say goodbye to those who had meant something to him. And there are plenty who owe him: dozens of those gagging their way around the Manchester pubs and clubs are doing it as a result of his tuition and encouragement. Apart from his gigs, Dave ran a comedy workshop, where wannabees could learn their craft every Saturday afternoon, in a bar off the Oxford Road. The courses attracted a wide range of aspirants, from Mercedes-driving housewives to transvestite Scotsmen, with salesmen, social workers and university students in between. As the end approached, Dave said he regretted not settling down to a regular job. But he had a creative mind, and felt that when he mastered something, the challenge went, so he moved on. He regretted smoking and knew he drank too much. He had hoped to be around for one special treat. "For Frank Skinner's comeback tour, I'd stay up all night and then sleep all the next day so I'd be awake for an evening gig, because he was the one I looked up to when I was starting in comedy." It was not to be. His business was called Priceless Comedy; his gift was priceless encouragement.- News: Sad News Dave McCadden RIP

i knew dave from way back in 1971, i was working on the manchester university as an apprentice painter and dave was working there for a renovating firm that was cleaning up the old building, we were roughly the same age and got on really well, dave had this majestic scooter that was fullof mirrors and had a great road runner theme all over it, i never saw him again for a few years and then used to see him at the casino and underground market in manchester at the rcord stalls with dave withers rod shard . last saw him at lowton about 6 or 7 years ago, a great story teller and funny guy,r.i.p dave.- News: Sad News Dave McCadden RIP

Melbourne 2011, Adelaide 2012, Perth 2013, Brisbane 2014.........Start saving ya pennies KTF Baz- News: Soul Great Syl Johnson Finds 'justice' At Last
Saw him in Perth Oz 18 months ago. Totally brilliant and so in control of his guitar. Did "Is it because I'm black" absolute awesome poignant record. Real energy in his performance considering he's on the wrong side of 70. His show had something for everyone, ballads, soul and blues thumpers and funk. Well known producer too, apparently took a girl from the band backing him in Australia over to the States and is writing and producing for her. He hung around after the show and chatted until we got thrown out. Seemed genuinely appreciative of the almost all white audiences knowledge and love of soul music. Didn't drink when he was younger, but I think he likes a smoke, (allegedly) even though his wife is a police commisioner! I'd love to see him perform again and will definitely buy the anthology.- News: Another Nail In The Vinyl Coffin
