  1. nice sweet soul flip also. i paid more than that for my copy.
  2. sorry, I didn't think I was saying anything negative about your sales, I hope you are successful
  3. haha, ross bagdasarian has a northern record? he's the (armenian) guy that invented alvin and the chipmunks
  4. the best video ever is the teddy / bluenotes singing "I miss you" on Soul! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOZuyAkj7Bc
  5. yes, wisconsin is the state, milwaukee is the city. sorry to come across as a smartass.
  6. look at a map
  7. that apollas record was actually a hit in chicago so it turns up trashed here. but it was the "all sold out" side that got play, not mr creator
  8. yes i'm pretty sure that's an unrelated detroit thing
  9. whoa, never knew that
  10. in my experience the ones with the lines are the rarest
  11. sorry for the delay on this. anyways, it looks like there's two catalog numbers for each release, the one on the left and the one on the right, and they only started using the one on the right later
  12. I don't think there are a lot of labels with the name. It started in Chicago, then went to Milwaukee (which is where it was most of the time and the time of the tornadoes record) and then went back to Chicago in the late 70s. It was run by lenny lacour.

Didn't craig moerer have it up buy-it-now for $5000 for a long time?
  15. I am a record collector. Among other things I specifically collect the magic touch label so one of them is filed in my collection. This is (or was) a very rare records that I had been looking for for many years. I bought an extra copy to trade as I know it's not only rare but that some people really like the record. I have much worse magic touch records in my collection.

aren't cecilia moore, the buttons, and the dee cees identical recordings?
  17. while wasting time i decided to look at the very first sales on here: /forum/4-sales/page__prune_day__100__sort_by__Z-A__sort_key__start_date__topicfilter__all__st__38800 i was surprised that most prices were pretty much the same or higher than now. obviously some records that were nothing that became in demand went up, but i was surprised overall.
  18. I like god bless whoever sent you off this LP
  19. just before these copies turned up a beat up copy went for I think like $600 on ebay. I had never seen it for sale before.
  20. thanks for the more accurate information, I appreciate it. I know sellers lie about quantity sometimes but this person seemed clueless enough (e.g. not listing it properly) that I would believe what they say.
  21. actually i bought two copies, one for my collection and another to hold on to to sell or trade
  22. this was a big hit in the US, very common

random info: howard rice was Richie Lane in the show Room 222. The scepter 45 by "richies room 222 gang" was his band also.
  24. I personally don't like this record but it definitely has the right sound for some people. I don't think they sold a few at a time to people either because they wouldn't respond to any questions and specifically had text in their auctions about not selling off ebay. I think it's more likely they had a 25 count box.
  25. assuming the seller is telling the truth, they're gone now... https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110763104046#ht_1223wt_881 I don't think there were that many either, should definitely go up
