  1. the seller is the one deleting the price. Why would they want to help a buyer buy a record off them and resell it for much higher?
  2. I think paul kyser was saying the nu sound express was the same group as some other group, anyone remember?
  3. Thanks. I have it on white and red, never seen the black one
  4. boba replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
i think so, thanks for clarifying

i think there's two presses of the wee also, a local one and one that has "bunky's pick" on it which got picked up for wider distribution.
  6. there is an awesome long psychedelic version that starts off with ruby rapping on the first ruby andrews' lp
  7. mercury white labels and red labels exist. it is a white group.

thanks for the info. I probably incorrectly assumed that all volt white labels were promos. Strange for any label to do, though, esp volt.

I'm guessing it says promo on the other side, which is the real a-side of this record. I have never seen a white press of a volt record that wasn't a promo (or maybe I just assumed as you are pointing out, that it is a promo?). If it doesn't say it anywhere it is an interesting record.
  10. boba replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
why do you think that that white promo is a later press?

hi. are you a member or related to a member of the group? I can send you a scan of a photo I have if you need it.

why do people on this thread keep making this argument? this is not an argument, this is the whole point, it shouldn't be worth more than a few bucks, and someone paying a lot more probably doesn't know what they are doing. you're right no one would have blinked an eyelid if it went for minimum, the point isn't that someone bought a carver, it's that they paid a ridiculous amount for the carver.
  13. it's good but it's a common $20 record, there are buy it now copies sitting on ebay for $30
  14. it's definitely a 60s chicago press, same fonts as the creations on blue label globe or light blue zodiac for example
  15. thanks, I just found your comment in the previous thread here: are you saying one person did all the vocals with overdubs or just that John Miles was the lead singer? Is John Miles this person: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Miles_(musician)? I'm not in the UK so I'm not familiar with him. Thanks.
  16. the two releases have different catalog numbers, first they did the ballad and then they went back to the studio and redid it as a "disco" version. the catalog numbers are sequential.
  17. It's not the brunswick group, I interviewed them, none of those are the members and this group was formed in 1974 or 1975 according to the video. The brunswick group was from Gary, IN. Thanks for the suggestion though. Does anyone else know if this is the group that recorded on epic and wb UK? Thanks in advance.
  18. the link is red actually. i never noticed the time differences, I wonder if they actually are different or the labels are just different. I will check mine and try to play them to compare tomorrow.
  19. I just checked my shelf. I have red vinyl (exactly as pictured above), red styrene (no scepter mention), and orange two-tone label vinyl. I have never personally seen the scepter one.
  20. the orange label is the styrene press, red is the vinyl (I think I also have a red styrene but have never seen an orange vinyl).
  21. your record looks very real. i'm sure manship meant that the boot b-side has the manhattans on it.
  22. i just rated this a 10 because i enjoy how much drama on here it caused
  23. the forevers are the same group as kitty and the haywoods, btw
  24. is this the Epic (UK) group: https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=119056244798350 if so, crazy that one of the chilites was in the group. can anyone confirm that this is the realistics that recorded on UK labels? the years make sense and it's not the brunswick group.
