It's Everything About You (that I Love)
I think the 60s pretenders version is fantastic. There's a similar, lo-fi sounding version by a group called the Tempos on the Orivious label.

Passions / Newday Interview
Today I just interviewed three members of the Passions / Newday on my radio show. I just put it online, it's the last interview on my webpage: www.sittinginthepark.com/interviews.html This is the first group I've interviewed from Gary, IN (hopefully many more to come). Eldridge Anthony (the guy who cut 4 records as El Anthony on LaCindy and Star-Vue) was a member of the group. Unfortunately, he's not in the interview, as it was hard enough to coordinate 3 people in a 4-way phone call! It's still an interesting listen. thanks, Bob

Does This Record Exist (intertains)
anyone?

Shirley And The Squires On Constellation
Despite several doowop collectors telling me that they've seen this a bunch of times, I still have been unsuccessful in finding this. Does anyone have a copy to sell me? If not, does anyone have a copy that they can record both sides for so I can give the recordings to the group members? Thanks in advance.

Knights & Arthur
it's on Gamble, this doesn't come up for sale often although it's not really valuable.

Does This Record Exist (intertains)
This is listed several places: Uptown 730 - Intertains - Am I glad / hard to get Does this actually exist? An article online even makes reference to a group member not having heard of the record. If it does exist, can anyone provide a sound clip and / or a label scan? Thanks.

it got released with 2 flips

The Sweets
I only know of 2 sweets 45s (soultown and valiant) and both are LA things, so I guess it's likely it's the same group. I know felice was definitely in the valiant group.

Album Tracklist Needed
I don't think that there was an album released in the 60s, I think in 1980 Dore issued the album compiling all the earlier stuff, but that they at least remixed some of the cuts (if not all) from the master tapes.
-
Album Tracklist Needed
I think they're not the same, if you listen the bass is at least mixed much louder, it makes them sound different to me.
-
Album Tracklist Needed
the tracks on the LP are mixed differently than the original 45s, though. They have the bass mixed very high (and possibly even extra bass added / played over them) so it makes the cuts cheesy and 80s sounding.

Wanted - Fantastic Epics
yes, but Jimmy Burns wasn't a member of the group, they just did backup on a couple records. Jimmy Burns did sing with the doowop group the Medallionaires in the 50s though.

Jackie And The Umpires
I just pulled out the records and the record you're referring to IS the Relatives "she's got soul" on wow. The other side of the record "three kinds of love" is the same recording as Jackie and the Umpires. If you don't know the relatives record, maybe it also got released with a different name? The group also recorded as the relations and the kac-ties.
-
Patti Drew On Capitol
the dells wrote or produced a lot of stuff for other people, I don't think they did this song themselves.
-
Jackie And The Umpires
the other side got released as the relatives on wow, I don't know if that helps you.

Patti & Emblems Boot Currently $162
also, that seller is a jamaican seller, they have all sorts of weird 'island soul' boots that aren't available in other circles. can't fault him given that he actually said it was a repro in the listing.

the blenders on AFO was on ebay a few weeks ago and I didn't know what it was. Any chance of a sound clip?

2 Group/sweet Soul 45s
The fabulistics is DC, that 45 is much rarer than their first 45 on Scorpion. However, it was on ebay for $125 a couple months ago and no one bid. I definitely think it's worth at least that, it's just obscure and unknown. You have the rarer and more collectible day-tons 45, which is also a DC group. The one you have goes for about $250-$300. Their other 45 ("a broken heart") is awesome but used to be around in some quantity, but now is maybe $50-$100. They also have a very rare funk 45 on a DC label called Moneytown (no relation to the Chicago label).

Rare 45s
I agree with you (especially given the small circle here that definitely doesn't include a lot of collectors), but there are a few documented cases of things being rare for specific reasons. For example, someone on soulfuldetroit described how motown pressed exactly 6 copies of Frank Wilson and documented what happened to most of them at least. In other cases, a small number were pressed and most were destroyed (at least personally I've talked to people who have told me about how stuff was pressed and destroyed).
-
Rare 45s
Another motown rarity not well known by the northern community: a doowop collector told me that there's only two known copies of the charters on mel-o-dy. Is this true? It's a nice record.

Rare 45s
The Ivories promo photo also says "scepter records" at the bottom of it. None of the group members had any idea about their record being also released on wand, but they seemed to remember doing some backing for chuck jackson and maxine brown (can't tell you which 45s they sang on though). They do sing backup on Jerry Butler's "I dig you baby".
-
Rare 45s
No, I have this record on wand too, can post a scan if you don't believe me, I posted it to another forum once.

Uni Records
Lovelace Watkins Uni LP was done in Chicago, my friend Benjio (who was a member of the Satagans and Solid Gold on Fortress) worked on the sessions (I think he did some sort of writing and producing). He also wrote the flip of betty everett's there'll come a time on Uni.
