hey rob if you know his social security number i can find out if he's dead
  2. at least it's on vinyl
  3. The hem release is clearly rarer but I don't know how you could say it's better. It's pretty much a copy / answer record to the first one and has pretty much the same sound.
  4. I don't know, but leaving westbound and going to motown and recording "smiling faces" with norman whitfield as the undisputed truth was the best thing the group members could have done. The final female member (Virginia McDonald) became a part of the Eighth Day, who also had bigger hits than the Magictones.
  5. for the record, in order to not be all negative (the chansonettes is terrible), here are my favorite cuts on shrine (there are still some other good ones, but these are my favorite): Cautions - Watch your step Epsilons - both sides DC Blossoms - I know about her Cairos - stop overlooking me Eddie Daye and the four bars - guess who loves you Cautions - poor loser Prophets - huh baby Enjoyables - shame [wish i had this one!] Cavaliers - Tighten up
  6. that is probably the source of the lineup I list above. But Dave has some connection to the group too as he issued an unissued record of theirs. And he very thorough and detailed notes about some of his other releases so I doubt he's just randomly speculating.
  7. no, japanese dude needs to hit me up if he wants to buy a massive collection of all the remaining records he's not specifically looking for...
  8. the chansonettes is probably the worst one (and I even own it so I'm not talking down stuff I don't have).
  9. popsike collects data and does a bulk upload every few weeks. collectorsfrenzy updates daily. both miss data and popsike has been purging a lot of data in the last year or two. it would be nice if chris had an explanation for how the exact same listings were on popsike. the only explanation i can think of is that they were all previously shill bid and ended without meeting the "reserve". This is not an accusation, it's just the only explanation I can think of, so I'd like to hear something that explains otherwise. Also, any serious collector or dealer grades records. Someone can post their explicit grading scale if they want to make it less subjective.
  10. "Japanese fella" needs to hit me up
  11. Can anyone supply me with a 300DPI or better label scan of TV Slim "Hold me close to your heart" on USA? I can reciprocate with a scan or recording of something else. Thanks in advance.
  12. this was discussed here recently, but mike noriega was close.

    amazing!
  14. Buyer backed out. Record is up for sale again. Here are the details again. Will consider trades -- I still need the steptones "lonely one" which I feel is less valuable and a fair trade. Or obscure rare group soul titles. Thank you. NOTE: EMAIL ME at sitpsales@gmail.com to reserve. Paypal only, gift preferred but not required. Here is a copy of Jesse Fisher's "Honey" / "I can't stop loving you" on SoJamm. It's hard to grade the styrene on this title but "Honey" looks clean, at least VG+, I can't really see anything wrong. "I can't stop loving you" has some sort of whitening of the grooves (visible in the scan). It's unplayable -- it plays through but with distortion. It's not styrene burn but it's effectively the same and I don't think you could clean it (maybe if you are some sort of genius materials science engineer or something). Labels have some light wear (see photos). here is unaltered 256kbs stereo audio of the entirety of "Honey" recorded with a shure white label cartridge: https://www.divshare....ad/21402452-7a3 here are hi-res scans of both sides. $200ppd anywhere in the world. Trashed, burnt copies frequently sell for more. First person to EMAIL ME at sitpsales@gmail.com reserves it, will hold only 24 hours for payment before moving on to the next person. I might not reply right away but I will reply within 12 hours and will respond to every person who contacts me. Thank you.
  15. yeah, if it's a random record i'll either win it for $10 or lose it for $500.
  16. All I have to say to the (unfunny) smartass in the other thread is VINDICATED.
  17. in another thread i posted the copyright was nov 6 1969. so the record might have been released early 70
  18. when the few copies came out that I was the second bidder on every time and which were bought up by DJs (before it was big), they all went for about $500-$600
  19. soul harmony singles has the soul dimension record listed as '74 and the shield record listed as 3/76
  20. Hi Dave. I know Landy was involved with producing the group, but this is the info we have in soul harmony singles: SATISFACTIONS, THE (Washington, D.C.) Junior Isom (second tenor), formerly of the R&B groups The Marvels on Laurie and Winn, and The Senators on Winn; Lorenzo Hines (first tenor), Earl Jones (baritone and second tenor), Fletcher Lee (bass). But I know you were involved with issuing that Satisfaction Unlimited single so you probably have some other information. Can you reconcile the information somehow? I would appreciate it.
  21. thanks a lot
  22. that is the date based on the delta numbers?
  23. Yes but I think Bob M. was asking if a girl was used in the studio, which does happen a lot to round out the production. I don't think there was in this case.
