Totally agree it was an absolutely dire play. So bad I couldn't remember the name. Seeing the film synopsis containing "Swept along on this tide of pulsating dance and lust" reminded me of it. The music was authentic though which was the point I was trying to make. Anyway deffo my last post on this topic. At the end of the day it's not a matter of life or death and I'll pay my money when it hits the cinema. At that point we can all objectively review it.

But this is a Northern Soul site, not a Beatles appeciation society. I just get really pissed off with glib comments, especially when its about a film production which is aimed at 'mainstream' filmgoers who haven't a clue about the concept or content. The whole thing reminds me of a BBC 2 play where boy meets girl etc. in the early 80's. Can't remember the title but at least the music was authentic. Don't totally agree Rod but I'm a natural born cynic. I'm losing interest in this but what will be will be. I really hope they get it right and I've no problem admitting I was wrong and eating humble pie.
