superb venue, great music policy with great djs (yourself included Mark ). I remember it when Mark Robertson had it - he also run the Riverside club in hyde around the same time - he gave me my debut spot in there. the Concord Suite had everything, great floor, plenty of seating etc. Always surprised why no-one ever tried to run another nighter there but now seeing Marks comments it seems its down to the old timewarp brigade at the British Legion!! Last year in M&S in Stockport they had a crakin uptempo northern style tune on - never did find out what it was and certainly hadnt heard it before. But I have also heard AnnSexton played somewhere, may have been Matalan, cant remember.

Sold a load of stuff to a guy in the early 90's for £300 the lot and that batch included to name but a few :- Hayes Cotton, Roy Hamilton (black issue), Misty Moore, Victors, Syng McGowan (now a silly price!), Sheila Ferguson, Bernard Williams, Preston Peters, Charades MGM yellow demo, and so on

As there are so many good ones that have been released on the label - Fabulous Impacts, Teardrops, Jnr McCants and so on wouldnt it be a great idea if the Kent lot released them all on a double or triple cd - would sell like hot cakes

When is the RW show on XFM? Would like to listen to understand the viewpoints on here. Thing to note is (and its not just jumping to RWs defence) is that people doing these shows for smaller stations may be giving up their own time for free, I know I am and am sure the likes of Mark Bicknell etc are too. If the station has any sense it will listen to listeners views regarding presentaion, playlists etc. I certainly would welcome feedback on my shows as they gain momentum, like to know what stuff the majority of the listeners wanna hear etc. Thing is what if someone rings in for Muriel Day as a request? do i point blank refuse to play it - dont think so as at the end of the day it is a listener to the show (I'll save that one for when your on Mark ) Grant

If you can get it where you are Paul tune into Pure Radio (Stockport) - 6pm - 7pm every saturday on 107.8fm - I hope to capture stuff across the board with oldies (there wouldnt be a scene without them mate), x-over, modern, stompers etc. Also aiming to have different guests bringing a different flavour over the coming months - so if you fancy a stint on the radio feel free to give me a shout. Shows are pre-recorded for now whilst i learn the ropes in the cockpit but hopefully going live in the new year. Hopefully by early next year it will be streamed on the net too. Grant

what causes the clips to pause very 5 secs - is it the speed of my broadband? is there a better way to download and watch these without it stopping?

Yes you cant beat a nice slow ender (esp Gene Stridel - used to always end my spots with that ) - but agree with Rowly that we dont wanna hear them in the middle of a soul nite / niter - keep the stompers coming!!
