King Georges Hall Blackburn this Saturday, massive stunning venue, 3 rooms, always a 1800 sellout,- Ebay Bids
Could understand it if they stated no 'snipes' as this would encourage open bidding/bid wars, but with no warning of no snipes then i'm confused too,- Top 5 Current Sounds

Think it's a case of 400+ in a venue needing medical advice on how to remove the urge to dance to such tunes, coz it's pants- Whats Your 1st Fifteen Records In Your Box/playbox
Now all of that I can relate to, my 'box' never returns home in the same order it left- Whats Your 1st Fifteen Records In Your Box/playbox
Paul that's when you start regretting after your set what you coulda played, you don't have to 'know' what goes with what, just what you think goes with what, then you can browse similar stuff if your playing a request, just my way of filing the playbox, i'm sure it's not everyones way, just a case of what's easiest for the individual,- Whats Your 1st Fifteen Records In Your Box/playbox
Alphabetical is all well and good, if you wanna go straight to a particular 45, but what if you wanna play something of a similar style to whats playing but not sure what? if you get my drift? Alphabetically doesn't mean similar styles, and changing the contents of a playbox to suit a venue would be a nightmare to do in alphabetical order, just keep em in 'blocks' of styles/eras me,- Ian Levine Productions And Songs
Was thinking as I typed that post, Pete will have something to say here- Ian Levine Productions And Songs
BTW Ian the 2nd line on my signiature is a quote from when we attended the Ion bar, but Nige Browns sat nav took us about 300 yrds up the road to a block of flats, A very enjoyable evening it was too, when we finally got there, Pete E- Ian Levine Productions And Songs
Do you speak for the masses? There's a Reggae forum on here, you know what? I've never looked in it once, nothin against it just not my bag, but I don't get the urge to go in there and tell em!!!!!!!!!!!!!- Frank Wilson - Do I Love You
It's a classic, no getting away from that, but thinking about the overplayed comments, yes it's been hammered, but in the last decade, at least round these parts, no more hammered than Ruby Andrews, Dells (run for cover) Moses Smith etc, (probably less) at even the most oldies of oldies nights, but it's a classic as in a classic example of a tune getting danced to and accepted by Joe Public and that will never do will it? Pete E- What Is The Average Age Of Northern Fans
Just back from Donna's, hope she reads this, That's what I was trying to say Jayne, but this internet thing can throw ya, but till now I didn't consider that it was the internet, tended to look at the birthdays on here as a true indicator, Feel a bit better now Pete E- What Is The Average Age Of Northern Fans
I reckon that's a good call Jayne, I'm 48 and always thought that was about average, and when I was in my 30's it felt as if I was at the younger end of the scale, but I have noticed with the birthdays shown daily on here, loads more younger than older, at a guess 70% younger than me, so maybe it is an internet thing, doesn't help when reading the birthdays though Pete E- Here's As Good A Place To Ask As Any
Well there you go, I didn't know that, and I guess i'm not alone, which I suppose questions the term 'pop standard',- Here's As Good A Place To Ask As Any
If I may ask where and when was 'Blues in the night' regarded as a 'pop' standard, not saying it wasn't just not aware of it, Pete- Here's As Good A Place To Ask As Any
Well I can't give a long articulative opinion on '16 tons' but what I will say is, regardless of it's merits (or lack of) musically or it's dance floor reaction, those that champion it should in future refrain from complaining about the having to travel/pay to hear the top 500 NS tunes, most forty/ fifty somethings in any enviroment will recognise TEF, so all the theories about the 1000's of tunes out there just waiting to get some turntable action and be appreciated go's right out of the window, I know it's only one tune but if that's allowed or accepted then anything is, PE - The Beginners Guide To Progressive Northern
