Thanks for the response, and i understand the insurance issue, but i have purchased more expensive 45's from the USA lots of times and never paid anything like that for postage, Like said will pay it this time as i don't want to lose the 45 (a long time want) but will remember the seller for the future, Pete

Won a 45 on Ebay last night, final price around £250 from USA, paid through paypal, postage costs stated to uk $0.50, i thought this a bit strange but thats what it said so thought hey, result, Just got an email from seller, saying i have paid for an item and not paid postage, and the outstanding postage costs are $27.50, I know i have only been using ebay a year or so but i have never paid or even seen postage costs so high, Will pay it as its not a kings ransom but still, why so high? or is it the norm and ive just been lucky previously? Yep all bases covered there, tied up, kidnapped, but had a jolly good time. but dare anyboy else enjoy the same treatment at a similar event, and it is very similar, the theme that is, but obviously not or is it? like i said i won't be going nor did i watch the play, not for me, but hey if it's my birhday who knows? then it will be for me,

Try any Stoke nighter or any of the busiest soul nights in the country, don't know where you come from but if you really believe oldies orientated nights arn't by far the busiest then you need to take a closer look!

Once upon a ruddy time but i enjoyed the play? how many bases are we covering here? did you or did you not pay and give your time up to watch a retro look at the casino? i give up, where you moving the goalposts to next? And i think its those who consider themselves more upfront who are guilty of ramming beliefs down folks throats! how many cafe attendees on here upping it? to busy getting on with enjoying life to be bothered with what we think,

But its got everything to do with todays scene as there will be as many attending or buying into it as almost anywhere or anything else on the scene, so therefore it is part of the scene, Otherwise why are we discussing it? It might not be anything to do with your scene but the very fact its on here creating a reaction says it's part of todays scene, I reckon the people who do buy into it are really concerned about what we think! NOT Too busy enjoying life i bet,

I'm not saying don't slag off the past though, i'm saying don't slag off what people want to do with their time and money, wether that is associated with the past, present, or looking to the future, If you don't want to watch a Drifters 'tribute' or don't want to attend events connected to x y or z then as i said before IT'S EASY don't go, and do whatever it is you would rather be doing, If people find pleasure attending events/venues you would rather not visit then leave them to it, as said previously don't concern yourself with how anybody else exercises a fundamental human right to enjoy themselves how they see fit (as long as its legal ) Not directed at you Steve in any way, 'you' = if the cap fits so to speak, Best, Pete Eccles

Great thread, and quality posts from Bryan B and Pete Smith among others, Always said you can't be enjoying what your doing if your overly concerned about what others are doing, and if your in a minority banging on about your 'scene' is best we all know that if the masses came and agreed with your way of thinking you would only move into another minority so stop the preaching and do whatever makes YOU happy and stuff the rest, IT'S EASY Pete Eccles

Point taken Pete, but never thought it was a masterpiece in music anyway, your right the visual aspect shouldn't be anything to do with the sound quality but hasn't it been put up here for us to look at? and taking that into account along with the tune itself my opinion is its dreadful!

Been known to play this out myself occasionally, a catchy tune, but on seeing that i'm sorry but its fukcin dreadful! but that's only IMHO Each to their own i suppose but if thats Joe Stampling (looking like a news reader on stars in your eyes impersonating a popstar) then i am very disappointed!

Hi Neil, my take on this for what its worth, Doesn't take Shirlock Holmes to work out this letter has nothing to do with reported events previously, Not only was the author abroad at the time but they can't even get the names right of the alleged victims (one incorrectly spelled and the other the complete wrong name) so my guess is they arn't that close, That leaves me to conclude there's an obvious personal issue going on here, using any other issues purely as a convenient vehicle for their intentions, sad really as if any particular venue had attendees i wasn't to keen on personally i would just not attend if it meant that much to me, To actully pen an anonmous letter 'advising' an experienced promoter like yourself how to promote and expecting a favourable response is just immature and naive (sp?) to put it mildly, I would advise whoever sent this letter, maybe they are reading this, to try and fulfill their life in another enviroment as the soul scene is obviously letting them down if they feel the need to take this sort of action to get their 'fix', Keep up the good work Jonesy and try not to take this to seriously, Pete from Farnworth
