Getting confused now, the Jimmy James is a version of "I feel alright" isn't it? I thought Frankie was talking about "Jeanette" .... maybe not, unless Jimmy James did a version of that too, Isn't the Jimmy James the original, written by him?

It's been in demand for many years now, which could make it's availability (as opposed to rarity) a little scarce, although lot's were saying they were sick to death of it, and rightly so, 15 years or so ago, yet it's still getting lots of plays, £749 is a lot of money for a 'get out of jail free card'

  6. Wasn't going to buy Set 2 but weakened the other day when Amazon dropped the price to under £40, Great service and super fast delivery, box arrived yesterday, Today the box set is on it's way back to Amazon, 3 'dished' records and 1 of them (Four Tops) seriously warped, Very disappointed, not trying another,

  9. Clever stuff, well to me anyway, I don't have a kindle but noticed through the link I don't need one, installed the free kindle app on my phone, bought the book and it's downloaded to my phone and my laptop (windows 8), whichever I read the book on now when I change devices it will start at whatever page I was up to,

  11. I have one, great apart from DJing with, a nightmare when pulling records up, pull a few up and then go to pull a few more up and the first lot fall back down again, have to pull them out of the box/bag completely, then there's always the chance you won't put em back,

If I'm being perfectly honest I haven't got the foggiest idea what all that means, you go to events that are 'teeth grindingly boring' and I should be guilty and borrow some records????? I don't know who you are or the venues you attend, which are irrelevant anyway, so why have I a guilty conscience? Are you saying you want to carry on attending those boring venues, although if those venues are reasonably well attended they can't be boring for everyone, you want to keep the same DJs but tell those DJs to leave their records at home and hire someone else's, preferably ones of your choice? Yea it sounds like the future

Sounds like you are attending the wrong venues, for you that is, if they are 'teeth grindingly boring' why go?

Either that or a fool Nev,

Surely the whole idea has to be a wind up????
  21. Almost sure Meri Wilson got top 5 in the UK, and wasn't banned by the BBC either
  22. Fair comment although what makes a named DJ is probably another debate, and your example doesn't quite make the 'named DJ' status for me, again subjective I know
  23. Named DJs aren't so just because they own original records, it's also because they usually know what originals to play and in which order to play them, and I am reliably informed most of them don't charge a kings ransom anyway, If the 'majority' of the floor are up and down like a yo-yo, at the end of it all they haven't had a great night and often can't quite put their finger on why, don't go back very often, less money for the promoter,
  24. But Chalky, if that's the case they aren't getting booked because they are young, they are getting booked because they bring an entourage,
  25. I agree, as would anyone, but where does it crossover from one to the other? That can be very subjective, there are some very youthful 30 year olds and then again some very dull and grumpy 20 year olds,
