  1. Likewise confused by your 'comment`........ but we all have different views on what 'you' say is Soulful........ I just happen to prefer the less produced, more uptempo 60s 'Northern' sound.......A sound to which the type of dancing this thread is about was designed for!!. I will agree with you that there is to much soul about now..... to many venue's chasing to few punters has watered the scene down to a facimile of its former self in an attempt to appeal to as many people as possible........ I also agree with you about the 'Soul Police`.......Perhaps if we had them 30 years ago this disscussion would not be taking place!!
  2. A couple of tracks I have never heard at any venue's since Wigan closed its doors! 1, 'Music with Soul', The Pallbearers. 2, 'Do what you wanna do', The Michelles Downloadable would be nice!!
  3. I would say it's the other way round!..... ie 'Soulies' killing of Northern soul!. Many Venue's have now replaced the Wigan type 100mph stomper with more mid-tempo commercial sounds and 'Safe' Northern which hardly require the body of an athlete to dance to!!.. The only real chance of injuring yourself on the dancefloor these days is if you trip over a Handbag!!!
