  1. Hi Ady Is my story right you were there when I bought it at the Dome. Didn't you sell that Red issue to Sam.
  2. There is a styrene copy as well, I had one got a vinyl compared them and they were the same long track and small dead wax.
  3. I thought they looked the same both glossy or matt its just in the matrix both Monarch but its the shorter number Oh! and a small dead wax.. I got this from a stash of records from a guy who died in 1970 and all he had was promos, think h took them round the shops, it has a green date at the top on one side I think so not only the year but I also give you the day and month.
  4. Paid 240 for mine unplayed demo 8 years ago.
  5. Red one Tony, seen that go for £450.00 or a demo. I only found out about the meal @ 6, but you were in the shower was it? dreadful day.
  6. Humm Sorry I take them out of my box, leave them at home Steve then see what's left to form a set around that.
  7. I like to know what every other DJ on the night has in his or her box, take out what they have and then see what happens.
  8. A red Eddy wow only seen the blue but a red Don's. Last 100 Keith played Don I left singing it down the street and few friends said you pissed or what. Both great versions if you have an Eddy you then need a Don like cheese and biscuits can't have one without the other. Do you think the Don's version is a vanity record like he wrote it and had to release it, I don't know the numbers if its the first issue or second to Eddy.
  9. I have a record by the guy from the Del Laks found tape and pressed up and it reminds me of that sort of sound. Glad you agree. Is this the same Bob Smith as The Bob Smith Orch? on first play it sounds like a Butch tune.

You wait mate next time I am let out I will play you some stuff that will make your toes curl (my lumber jack songs) clear the floor, I will clear bloody the street and a surrounding boroughs. There is a time and place for every record, if you surprise people with the likes of The Snake, Fortune Teller they can go down a storm.
  11. I like the Bob Smith but it looks and sounds like an old tape from the 70ts found and pressed up in the last few years.

Bood for playing bad records where was this.
  13. Promo, I think Rob Messer had it for more that week as well.
  14. From Kent its on one of their LP's. The best known and fondly remembered of Dore soul output was cut in 1966. The song came to the label via its writer Lou Baretto, Lew Badell could remember little about of Rita other than she was Italian/American but he distinctly remembers Lou Barreto who also introduced him to Bob Relf . Barreto famously recorded Blowing My Mind To Pieces and Lew went on to cut the master with Bob himself the tantalisingly named Red Alert sadly unreleased and even more sadly eluding us. Bob Relf found fame as Bob & Earl and in peculiar Northern Soul coincidence Lew also recorded Bobby Day, the original Bob of Bob && Earl. Lew cut two versions of GWTW at the original session a full take and the 45 issue.
  15. whoops! I forgot about that one, I had a copy of that sold it for £50 its still a rare record on that label as well. wish I had kept it as well. Do you sing.
  16. From The Northern Soul Of Dore volume 1+2 Full length version.
  17. Wow can you scan the record, Lester go's for big money as you know and the other side I think sold last week for 600 700 UK £ its on hear in Manship sales, so the value of this record who knows, it could be a special one off for Lester. Luck or what.
  18. The owner of Dore also remixed The Dip and other tracks in a Reggea stylie at least four others. I dun'a lyk it isa nor guud.
  19. Its at work I will get it later on and post it up, unissued longer Dore version and yes more words. Andy Rix played it one night so I went out and bought the CD but got the wrong one. This mix is on a Joeboy CD from 1998
  20. Yes its the longer version but this is Ian and someone else mix. I have the other on a Dore CD
  21. This keeps freaking me out, I think my mac has an alarm that the HD is gonna pack up. The house mix but I am not sure if its the terrace or semi- detached.
  22. Helps clear the air. I thought we were all getting some where probably not.
  23. My 'you succeeded' is gold no stamp hand written matrix, what's your stamp 0 MR?
  24. Try going to a do where there's more than 15 people then I do Pete 15 people means I stayed at home. I am not a idiot Pete so don't treat me like one for living in London I don't know it 4 or 5 years ago the biggest record in the country was Standing On Solid Ground, played at big venues like Blackpool and Stoke and absolutely ramming the floor. I went to support Ian when he DJ or was it he played his backing tracks for Sidney or Pat?? at Stoke. n.b. James history goes back about 4 years, So James can't have an opinion Many Thanks For Yours he runs a good club in London not my opinion its a bit modern for me but the attendance is higher than 15.
  25. Try this one and tell me if you would play this in a club when you can get a reissue for 10 or the LP for 20. Or is this the definitive version.
