  12. Hi Russ. I`m well thx, hope you are . I can understand where you are coming from on people taking the credit for effort/time/money put in to locate/source a great unknown track. To be fair when ever i`ve asked a dj what there playing they have let me know be it cover up or not.For me it`s about the music not the ego of a person/dj but maybe i`m old fashioned Are you going Essence?
  13. I`m with you on this Adam . Not like the Dj actually sang/recorded the record so while hide it .Personally if Dj would`t tell me title of song i`d either switch radio off or walk out room while there djing. At the end of the day if there first to play it it would get noted by those in the know.Plus if i`m put onto a tune i always give the person props when i find/play it out.Maybe i`m in the minority there.
  14. Hammersoul replied to Middleman's post in a topic in Record Wants
    Sent ya a pm re-Rhetta Hughes 7"
  15. I`m one of them that puts request on playlists, reason being: 1/So other people know what punters wanna hear.To let other dj`s see what`s in vogue etc. 2/To show punters that if you pm/ask in advance(unless i have record in box) i will take requests if i can fit it the set. I don`t feel ashamed to play any records i have,if i have it`s cos i like it,i`ve never bought a record cos` it`s in vogue`/cock wave brigade` etc. Hope this answers your question
  16. Maybe some of the dealers can verify this John,i must admit i thought it sounded early 90`s but has that late 80`s sound has well.I had Dave Thorley down for the answer on this one
  17. Hi Nev... Yes it does seem that way .I always said i`d stop buying records if i became that . To be honest i`m trying to slow down buying so thought i`d give meself a project to take me mind off buying,,,It`s not working Hope your well fella.

I`ll just walk away/i wish-Delilah Moore on Money 7". Clock is ticking
  20. I agree,i used to like the old school way of crate digging rather than buying on-line.Plus if there was a soul do to go to afterwards makes it all worthwhile with beer thrown in Just think ,vinyl, beer and tunage...What more would you want.. Plus Manchester is a good half way meeting point.I used to go to a fair there back in the early-mid 90`s,always found a few good tunes at good prices
  21. Has a collector i like the sound of this.
  22. Really interesting interview Ian.Have to say has a ex mod in 79-84 i kinda went throu the same musical path has Dean although i got into modern in the mid-late 80`s and didn`t do the hip-hop thing in the early 90`s.I think your find a few others on here came from the mod scene and maybe went throu a similar musical path give or take ,especailly some of the London lot.I did buy some of them comps especially in the early part of my collecting in early 90`s to be used has tapes to help hunt down the originals.Good luck with the new comps.
  23. How did you listen to clips now?Since they changed it i can`t listen to clips on refo soul anymore...
  24. Cheers for the clips old soul man Have to say there`s no differance between either copy so i think i must have either got mixed up with another track or it sounded good on the clip i heard. Might put that in me sales pile.
  25. Is there 2 versions/mixs to this?? When i bought the rocket label copy it sounded differant from what i heard on a sales tape.At the time i put it away cos i was busy working and just forgot about it till now.Has anybody got a clip of solid gold they can post up for us??
