Ive got a question; can you tone down any references to drug taking during any scenes at the casino as at the time I told me mam "that sort of thing never happens at the casino", I would hate for to see the film and give me a slap round the earhole for fibbin
  9. thats quality
  10. Motown days were lucid, enthusiastic and revealing. "Clarence Paul introduced me to Berry Gordy after he saw me singing with my group, The Tabs, at the Duchess Theatre in Detroit. I came down to the studio and must be that one
  11. couple of weeks ago looking through the usual boxes of crap at a boot came across a stateside red and white in good nick, jerry butler it was, looked good from 63 I think, 10p only how can you resist that? got it home and played it, hhhmmmm, great voice, but it sure wasnt northern! some movie theme score trash
  12. one or two goodies on diamond
  13. sorry ian got to dissagree with you on this, if one of the better known northern tunes was selected the outcry would have been *typical bbc* would it not? also just because it wasnt played in the 60`s isnt really that relevent. and how many of the other selected sounds will still be danced to in 35 years time? not too many me thinks.Surely charades gets spins play now than the 5 you mentioned yours in aspic jules

Ive been going to nighters and soul nights for some 30 years now and the thing that pisses me of most is the roast beef sandwiches at kings hall, NO FCKIN HORSE RADDISH SAUCE ! its enough to make a bishop kick a hole through a stained glass window.
  15. I can remember one christmas sending my blind mate a cheese grater as a pressy, saw him on boxing day and he said to me thanks for the pressy but that novel was really violent! appologies
  16. thanks for that ZT, I didnt know it was prince buster! still , a good 10p`s worth
  17. Picked up its burkes law - Jamaicas greatest- bluebeat for 10p on sunday anyone heard of it?, I`m no expert on ska but it sounds pretty good to me.
  18. A good article by rob again, all his writings are well worth a read and I shall tell him so next time he buys me a pint, as its his round.
  19. I have removed many warps over the years using this method, you need a heat source, preferably gas ring and the biggest heaviest book you can lay yer hands on ( must be a hardback). open the book halfway, place the warp on the disc over the gas flame ,(about 18 inches above it), slowly ( and I mean slowly) bring the disc down towards the flame, if you do this at the right speed it will slowly start to droop, at this piont place it as quick as possible in the book, slam the book closed. I have straightned a good few discs like this, the good thing about it is if you dont get it right first time you can have another go at it, provided you dont let it get too hot first time round. copywrite: the jules record straightening method
  20. last christmas we tried to get directions to one of their soul nights but to no avail, it was as if they didnt care if anyone turned up, I wouldnt mind but we were only a couple of miles from the venue, could have walked it, but could we find it!
  21. just an obsevation mate but perhaps it would be their DECISION to turn up at a northern do rather than a choice, there is a v big difference
  22. dont laugh but I will listen to anything by glen campbell, just think this guy really has got it, galveston oh galveston, started me off now.
  23. Q2 birmingham, went to a couple of good nighters there
  24. a few fresh young faces would be nice, but does anyone really want ns/rs to become the next big thing on radio 1 or mtv. the consequences would be horrific. Discuss
