I dj'd with him at a gig in Newton le willows and he was full of it, several weeks after I was doing some research for an article I was writing about the Torch and googled the dj's, Martyn was first in and to my horror a story unfolded that he had died. It shook me up me big time it was if I'd lost someone close though to be fair I didn't really know him.

It made me think today what records played way back in the day made you wanna talk to the guy next to you about the benefits of covering cucumber seeds in April when they were played. I destested The Casanova two - we got to keep on and The Olympics - The same old thing, now they're possibly in my top twenty of ALL time...anyone else have any that have grown on you over the years??

i know we;ve all done it but I sold my Ree Flores copy to Kev Draper for £35...he even knocked me down from the £40 asking price suggesting I could have dib in his little bag all night foc...not sure what that was all about..

I sometimes get rather dissapointed when a record arrives mint, like Rice Crispies theres something VERY special about a few crackles and pops..

I recently put some sales on here and while compiling the list I wrote Reggie Garner - Hot Line - Capitol £20 Monster Record from way back in the day... It made me think about where I purchased it from in 1975, the fact it was one "we all wanted" the fact it cost me a weeks wages and the fact it had been in my collection for 33 years....it made me realise how importnat this record was and should remain to me...I decided not to sell it as its what collecting vinyl was all about. As for cd's I have no idea where to put the needle down on them.
