  1. There was a discussion of the price of the Sonja record on here several months ago: /forums/topic/135055-tina-turner-we-need-an-understanding-sonja/page__hl__sonja__fromsearch__1
  2. Sorted, thanks. Actual prices paid for this on ebay don't seem to reflect what dealers charge...They seem to sell for around £40 when up for auction lately.
  3. There's a hole in my record collection called "Happy Go Lucky Me." The original, not the later version, please. Stock or promo, clean copy. Cash awaits. Anyone? (I have the worst luck on here with wants....99 percent of them go unresponded to....Will this be an exception?)
  4. Ascots, She Did/Hip Talk (Bethlehem) Satintones, Going to the Hop/Motor City (Tamla)
  5. Beware the lookalike boots made in Detroit in the '80s...which themselves are probably pretty scarce at this point.
  6. Clips of most of the records are easily findable on youtube or through googling.
  7. Mixed list of soul, R&B, blues, gospel, tittyshakers. All records I actually really like! Bargains and cheapies galore. Nothing over $100 and most significantly less. Email finewine@wfmu.org to reserve; I'll respond to emails in the order I receive them. PAYPAL ONLY unless you live near me and can hand me cash. GRADING: M– (a new record); VG++ (minor flaws but basically new); VG+ (great play copy); VG (plays with some noise; fine for DJ'ing); VG– (more noise, still enjoyable). NOTE: For grades less than VG+, I usually won't mention label wear; you can assume there is some. I will always mention writing/stamps/stickers/bb holes/major damage, though. SHIPPING: U.S. $4 FIRST SINGLE, $0.50 EACH ADDITIONAL; ELSEWHERE $7 FIRST, $1 EACH ADDITIONAL. **PRICES IN U.S. DOLLARS.** E-MAIL TO RESERVE: finewine@wfmu.org **BIG CAVEAT: NONE OF THE SOUND FILES ARE FROM THE ACTUAL RECORDS I'M SELLING!! 8. Just picked this up. I may have had it once before but never listened to this side, which is superb. Presumably it's no rarer than his others, right? But far fewer copies seem to be about on the usual websites....Can't find it on refosoul either, just the inferior flip. Highly recommended!!

  21. Weingarden replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
To answer Ady's question above, this 12-inch metal acetate has the following tracks: A 1. Vivian Jones, Money Can't Buy Me Love 2. Vivian Jones, Crying 3. Bernie Moore, Which Way to Turn B 1. Bernie Moore, Lonely Soldier 2. Little Vance, I've Gotta Move 3. Little Vance, Summer's Almost Over For each artist there's an uptempo track and a slowie, and it sounds like it's all the same band and production. The Little Vance 'I've Gotta Move' would be a lot better if he weren't a child. Did it come out too?
  22. Two more for the discography (don't have them in front of me for label numbers): Young Jesse, Funky Funky Football (this is Jesse Thomas, who recorded for Ace, Teem, and Tailgate, not Obediah "Young" Jessie) The 5 Royales, I'm on the Right Road Now/Mr. Moon Man (one of the best screaming deep soul records anywhere)
  23. Weingarden replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
I know this one but can't place it!!!
  24. Killer soul ballad! Frank Tenella, "You Came Along and Changed My Whole Life, and Made It Worth Living"/The Years People, "Funky Drop" (Pt. 1) You can hear Tenella side on youtube or sirshambling.com; other side is decent instrumental funky soul. Scarce one. No copies on popsike or collectorsfrenzy. Strong VG condition on a M-/VG+/VG scale; X's on label $125, postage paid paypal only email to reserve: finewine@wfmu.org
  25. Ugh, why didn't the clips I uploaded come out right? The files sound fine on my computer, but they seem to have uploaded with glitches in them....
