Selling up ... Question
I think that reply touches on a couple of points that I was getting at with my initial response. i’ve been slowly selling bits and pieces for a couple of years now and based my answer on my own experiences. i do agree I see lots of 5 to 10 records listed for 20. my last small list on here I only sold one record.

Selling up ... Question
That’s the value of record that is very time consuming and slow moving to sell. in my experience it’s not until they are three figure records that they sell for very little effort. unless you are planning to sell at a price below all others.

Anglo American records - WTF!!
It could be. Shame about the crackle on the intro. But i’ve got a few that sound worse to be honest.

Records that were easy to find a cheap post 2000
Meeting collectors face to face in other countries having spoken online was a good thing. Putting a face to a name and sharing some good times.

Fast reliable internet and demand in sweet soul sides have both played a big part for me. you can be in instant communication with Japan, America and Europe at the same time. i used to enjoy looking through the record boxes on a night out but the internet saw a decline in traffic in record bars IMO. there was still some trade but it slowed it down its so much easier to do it from home.

Just Won( Mega Rare) Tina Roberts
Is there any connection here to the artist willie mcdougal who recorded on Kinard ? and also as billy Mack on Tina.

Anglo American records - WTF!!
I’d say poets gives it a strong run for its money I love some of Tommy ridgleys records but have never fully clicked with this side. the Matt brown is also great both sides the B side a great alternative to the pep brown version.

Selling up ... Question
I’d say if you rate it at 5k you could get 3k with not much effort but that last 2k would be the struggle. the great cheap records how ever good just don’t bring in money like the big ticket 3 figure records.

Selling up ... Question
I’d put a bit of time and effort into selling the most in demand and valuable records individually then slowly loose the will to live with shifting the rest and end up keeping it.

Yes I did all those crazy things. Phone calls to America in the middle of the night as well. loosing internet connection with 20 seconds left on auction and nearly throwing computer out the window as you saw a great record sell for a fraction you were prepared to bid.

Best is can remember was 2 dollars to the pound and also 4 dollars airmail to get a record from us to uk meant buying cheap records one at a time was possible. then the increase in value of records after these times as er changed.

Anglo American records - WTF!!
I’ve never seen that type of auction before. Going one bid increment above previous highest bidder seems much fairer to me. is the current highest bid there for you to see when you decide how much you want to bid ?

Used to get some great bargains off the e-mailed list. with tim’s knowledge I sometimes wonder if he slipped a few bargains there on purpose ?

I thought it would have started to reverse by now. i’m astonished It’s gone as far as it has and shows no sign of reversing.

As a follow on to buying good cheap records I was thinking about things I saw regularly and cheap post 2000 that are now dried up and commanding higher prices. 3 from me all bought for 10 dollars or less that I used to see quite often. So not things that were dear that I picked up cheap at the time. roy Roberts “you move me” webs “hard to break a habit” symphonic four in Zudan

The Chandlers/David Bowie
As an aside things sounding like other things... there is a current ad running on tv with a dance music style beat. But for the first couple of seconds it sounds as if Lou pride “coming home” is about to start. the track goes off to be quite different but just for a second the drum beat sounds very similar. anybody else noticed ?
