getting contacted so soon and one guy bidding like mad at the end all soundss iffy to me. I wouldn;t buy the record on principal. i'd look else where.
  3. tough call with a bit of leg work selling yourself startign with the high value items individually will get you the best returns. magnetics and willie faulk etc etc would fetch top money on ebay or with manship. then yopu can offload the rest inj bulk as most of your proper money will have been made. have you got any of that crappy deep stuff that nobody wants these days......

yes but it could just as well be shill bidding. Which this seems like TBH. the difference between 2nd and 3rd bid is always useful to know as well. See if it was a 2 horse race or a few different bidders interested.

I do this all the time now since you pointed it out a while ago. its very good and until then I never knew it was possible.
  6. am I right in thinking there are also short and long versions on tollie ?
  7. sleeve is also mint and there is a japanese text card insert also mint. the sleeve itself is a work of art that deserves framing and putting on the wall.
  8. mint copy of this rare japanese LP that is the only way on original vinyl to get the sensational "I can't do enough for you baby" 225GBP including delivery. paypal gift preferred. by PM if interested
  9. thanks. I bet it was "ever again"
  10. talking to a chap a work today who knows I like soul music he said something was played on radio 2 oin sat morning and then DJ went on to say it was only known copy and sold for 2.5k just curious if anybody knows what it was ? I know soul music is played reasonably frequently on radio2 but ths may have caught somebodies attention
  11. I think having a rule where no talking about live auctions is a good thing. there will be loop holes though like mentioning a very obscure artists in all about the soul or look at your box just as a 45 by the artist happens to be on ebay.
  12. there was a little beaver 45 that ended about a week ago "i'm a man just lime you / don't let it end this way" on cat. It ended prettyu cheap and if discussed on here I think would have gone for a lot more. I had an mp3 of it from a japanese blog about 4 years ago and this is the first copy i've seen on ebay. now there will no doubt be copies around but it must still be relaively unknown in the grand scheme of things. I've personally seen "do right man" more times. i've never heard a DJ play it and its fantastic.
  13. they sound very twee to my ears. Certainly not soul to me. i'm no expert with genres but I can hear a bit of rock and roll and possibly a bit of country.
  14. paying be gift can cost extra but not always. if you pay on credit card there are fees you either pay or pass on to the recipient. if you pay direct from your bank account there are no fees. for me there is no difference sending payment as gift than there was sending cheques long before the virtual world existed. if you stick to buying from people you know or on here you can at least blow the whistle if it goes wrong and if you are unsure or are dealing with somebody for first time just use the normal paypla facility.
  15. david dee "i realy love you / no one to love" norman could somebody with this 45 please put clips into ref o soul please or PM me soundfile or info where I might be able to hear it. thanks, dylan
  16. thats the one. You might have noticed me I was the one spinnig like a top then going into a backdrop
  17. one of the best records at last kings hall was a thing on president that ginger played. it did also come out on a US label but I can't remember what it was despite thinking it sounded very good in that large hall. it was a well known record by a well known soul artsist as well
  18. ohh that sonics is very good never heard it before. My kind of record is there a CD comp available for this label ?
  19. I picked up a copy of this after you reccomended it previosuly some time ago just after I got copies of his river city 45 and yes it is fantastic. I knew you would be on here with this tip when I saw the white cliff title.
  20. I put a bit of effort into basically trying to explain you can get outbid on ebay when i've re-read my additions they seem a bit obvious. I'm sure i've had a message after bidding that contradicted what I had just bid but I might be getting that wrong, so if I get the message again i'll take a screen dump and post it up.
  21. sounds good. Get it on the deep swap CD gone for good by him is terrific. by my side just OK not great.
  22. just baught those 2 jackie montre el 45s myself and can recommend highly as they are both fantastic. Doomed also has a great flip so 2 for 1 there. proper soul music
  23. thats not the situation i've seen or was trying to explain. The message I mentioned appears after you place your bid so must be when other bids are all landing at the same time ? yes it goes without saying you can't bid higher that the highest bid showing but less than next bid amount as shown below it. Unless you can't follow simple instructions
  24. only enough the amout you have entered already isn't enough then you get that message.
  25. the point is you are not the high bidder because your bid isn't one increment higher than existing highest so it doesn't register as a bid you get told to bid mreo than a given amount which is one increment more than current highest. I always bid random amounts with uneven numbers and a few pence but I don't think it helps much realy. I never bid exactly 10, 20 or 30 quid.
