  1. yes about a tenner. but I am having 2nd thoughts abotu this service. Although a parcel of mine has never gone missing i've read recently they only pay out compensation to the amount you yourself paid for the item not what you sold it for. And you also need proof of what it cost you. This proof of purchaes value could prove quite difficult to get in a lot of cases. Has anybody used the claim facility and been successful i'd liek t know if the above is true.
  2. what was the record and what was the total amount you paid ? that would help me answer the question.
  3. fromn what i can gather a few people have recently picked up this 45...... i'm talking of a small few but thats just the ones I know about. whats the general thoughts on the qty found ? either way its a great record.

I popped my head in the modern session at radcliffe and although its not for me it was very busy so there is a demand for it. Its a real shame steve can't get his session kicked off earlier though. when I think of modern there seem to be splits even within that scene. Those who like the 70s etc and have a history set in the northern scene and those who got into the rare groove thing who seem to be a totally different crowd who didn't come from the northern scene. And within this there seems to be a north / south divide ?
  5. agree totally it works both ways.
  6. is robs shop responsible for putting the first known copy of any big 45s into the hands of DJS and collectors. Or is the lsit too long to start writing. I seem to remember being told a story that the first copy of one of the shrines came from rob ? around stafford era time..............
  7. crikey that dynamite singletary is cheap I would have paid more than that. don't look at Johns auctions anymore as they always used to fetch realy high prices but is the tide startign to turn ?
  8. what and a proper till that would be something worth seeing. i'll have to pop in next time i'm in town.
  9. getting contacted so soon and one guy bidding like mad at the end all soundss iffy to me. I wouldn;t buy the record on principal. i'd look else where.

tough call with a bit of leg work selling yourself startign with the high value items individually will get you the best returns. magnetics and willie faulk etc etc would fetch top money on ebay or with manship. then yopu can offload the rest inj bulk as most of your proper money will have been made. have you got any of that crappy deep stuff that nobody wants these days......
  11. yes but it could just as well be shill bidding. Which this seems like TBH. the difference between 2nd and 3rd bid is always useful to know as well. See if it was a 2 horse race or a few different bidders interested.
  12. I do this all the time now since you pointed it out a while ago. its very good and until then I never knew it was possible.
  13. am I right in thinking there are also short and long versions on tollie ?
  14. sleeve is also mint and there is a japanese text card insert also mint. the sleeve itself is a work of art that deserves framing and putting on the wall.
  15. mint copy of this rare japanese LP that is the only way on original vinyl to get the sensational "I can't do enough for you baby" 225GBP including delivery. paypal gift preferred. by PM if interested
  16. thanks. I bet it was "ever again"
  17. talking to a chap a work today who knows I like soul music he said something was played on radio 2 oin sat morning and then DJ went on to say it was only known copy and sold for 2.5k just curious if anybody knows what it was ? I know soul music is played reasonably frequently on radio2 but ths may have caught somebodies attention
  18. I think having a rule where no talking about live auctions is a good thing. there will be loop holes though like mentioning a very obscure artists in all about the soul or look at your box just as a 45 by the artist happens to be on ebay.
  19. there was a little beaver 45 that ended about a week ago "i'm a man just lime you / don't let it end this way" on cat. It ended prettyu cheap and if discussed on here I think would have gone for a lot more. I had an mp3 of it from a japanese blog about 4 years ago and this is the first copy i've seen on ebay. now there will no doubt be copies around but it must still be relaively unknown in the grand scheme of things. I've personally seen "do right man" more times. i've never heard a DJ play it and its fantastic.
  20. they sound very twee to my ears. Certainly not soul to me. i'm no expert with genres but I can hear a bit of rock and roll and possibly a bit of country.
  21. paying be gift can cost extra but not always. if you pay on credit card there are fees you either pay or pass on to the recipient. if you pay direct from your bank account there are no fees. for me there is no difference sending payment as gift than there was sending cheques long before the virtual world existed. if you stick to buying from people you know or on here you can at least blow the whistle if it goes wrong and if you are unsure or are dealing with somebody for first time just use the normal paypla facility.
  22. david dee "i realy love you / no one to love" norman could somebody with this 45 please put clips into ref o soul please or PM me soundfile or info where I might be able to hear it. thanks, dylan
  23. thats the one. You might have noticed me I was the one spinnig like a top then going into a backdrop
  24. one of the best records at last kings hall was a thing on president that ginger played. it did also come out on a US label but I can't remember what it was despite thinking it sounded very good in that large hall. it was a well known record by a well known soul artsist as well
