How About A Definitive List Of 60S Dance Craze 45's?
Not sure if this fits in but the Slosh dance took me by surprise when I saw my wife taking off her shoes and dancing with her mum, I don't know where or how this originated but it does seam to be every where or at least was?

Behind The Scenes At Northern Soul The Film Clip
Nice pair of lads, spoke very eloquently and they certainly sounded respectful, can't help but like them and they seamed genuinely interested in what they are doing rather than an actors clinical distant approach. The shirts look great and I am impressed that they both seamed to have enjoyed and embraced the parts. Wouldn't it be great to have a Quadrophenia Type Northernsoul Revival? The State Of The Soul Scene Poll
I know that this is just Soul Source and I know that not every one will has voted but there is a 95.39% vote agreeing that there are too many venues. I'm not too sure that denying that anything is wrong is also going to be constructive. I'm not too convinced that asking people just to have a positive attitude is going to fix any thing? As far as I can see there are 3 steps; 1. Agree that there is a problem or agree that there isn't a problem 2. Identify the problem 3. Look for solutions If we are unable or unwilling to get passed step 1 then there is no point in continuing?

The State Of The Soul Scene Poll
I think a lot of you are missing the point? I'm no expert at reading this kind of data but it looks so far that the swing from Labour to the Lib Dems in the North-East is 13%, in Yorkshire 11.5% and the North West 9.5. Compare this to the swing in the South East (5%) and London (7%). In Scotland there is very little sign of a Lib Dem advance, with the party on 25% compared to 23% at the last election

Allnighter Issues
I have to completely hold my hands up here and admit to merging two topics, the thread was supposed to be about Allnighter Issues, I wandered from the path and we now have a mixing of two very different things with different factors that probably do nothing but complicate? Mike I think we should have 2 threads: Allnighter Issues Soul night Issues My fault, can we and when I say we, I mean you, can you fix it?

Allnighter Issues
Cheryl, I keep reading your post and trying as I am, I can't make out what you are trying to say? Sorry in advance but can you clear up a few things for me, where is this area where there are three clashing soul nights? Are you the promoter of one that is clashing? Do you take any responsibility for the clash? Are you talking to the other promoters? At what point do you promoters put the good and benefit of The Northernsoul Scene before making a profit, is it free to get in? If its not profit driven then what on earth motivates you all to have three venues going off all on the same night, isn't this madness? Do you as a promoter work on the first come first served basis? I know this will sound inflammatory, I'm just trying to get my head around three do's clashing in the same area? We all keep reading comments about how much this is hurting the Northernsoul scene, what are your comments as a promoter of one of three clashing venues? Who are you competing with, how far away are these do's geographically to yours. Couldn't you have all sorted out alternative dates or are you all just totally fingers up at the punters? I know clashes are often unforeseen and some times unavoidable? Can you please convince me that you lot aren't all just greedy fookers trying to screw us soul fans out of our hard earned dosh? Cheryl, we haven't met, I bear you personally no ill feeling but you have added this post on this forum, I would like to expand on this subject caring little to nothing if a promoter feels bruised, I suppose that just like you lot looking at it purely from a business angle? I'm passionate about our scene and I just want to understand the promoter's motives and futre intentions.

Allnighter Issues
I keep hearing and reading that we are in melt down , we are all doomed and the Northernsoul scene is disintegrating with Nighters and Soul Nights closing. I may be thicker than a whale omelet here but as far as I can see as a punter, we have never had it so good? The Nighter crowd all seam to be in attendance when the right vibe is found and as far as numbers are concerned I see no thinning when a decent venue is on offer? Soul Nights, I went to the South Yorkshire Soul Night Out Keep moat Stadium, Doncaster and had a cracking time. Is there a real problem? Is it just the smaller local promoters who are struggling? Is this due to over saturation? I know we all like to moan about different tunes, I am having the time of my life at the moment. Great people, passionate promoters and real choice. Have we really got a problem?

Modern Soul Cd Swap
I know that this is going to sound very cheeky but I will ask any way, could some one send me a CD or three of Modern stuff please, I have none to swap but I hope to rectify this. I am a relative new convert to the dark side and I have only just over the last few years found my self in the modern rooms and being totally sold on it! I will of course pay for any P&P and I thank you in advance and hope for a CD.

100 Club Crisis
Every time I visited The 100 Club there was always a scooter or three parked at the back, who rode there? In the early Nineties I rode my Lambretta GP 200 from Doncaster to London. I visited an old friend at Camden Market who had a stall opposite Keb Darge's stall. Keb gave me tickets to get in that night, it was an anniversary night and I think the single was "Aint that good enough"? I slung it away I think, stupid at the time but hey ho, we can all be knobbers some times. I parked my scooter right out side at the front on Oxford Street and just checked it was ok every hour or so, can't even imagine doing that now days without an armored chain and even then I'd still think it would have disappeared? The night was heaving and it was roasting inside, I remember meeting up with Bob Lee and having a brilliant night with memories engraved and stored away marked up as "Special people, Special Places" I can't see me riding up now days from Yorkshire but there is a Yorkshire Invasion planned and a few of us old fat bald Soulies intend to make pilgrimage to this little gem that shined so many years in a bucket of shat. Thanks Bob for the picture - 1987? 100 Club - Sean Leonard, Kirsty Warwick, Robert Messer (photos), Simon Cuerden (My belly) Did any one get any pictures of scooters at The 100 Club?

- 100 Club Crisis
I can remember exactly down to almost the month when the baggy brigade became cringingly embarrassingly out of fashion and the whole Wigan Casino thang became a by word for the dated. Northernsoul was not dead, there were loads of us still going and we have spoken on other threads about the second wave of young Soulies. At that time I and just about every one else where happy to see the monster die as long as it didn't bring us down with it, looking back with rose colored glasses, if you fookers wanted it so badly you should have gone to it and saved it! People power is the most powerful thing in the world, more powerful than Russ or Wigan's council, you didn't care, you didn't mobilize and you where quite happy with the convenience of the timing so you could do your family, career thing or what ever excuse you have to turn your backs on such fantastic music. Wigan Casino didn't die, you lot murdered it with your apathy, I get very fookin angry listening to the born again's and the self proclaimed Northernsoul experts howling over their long gone Wigan Casino, if you loved it so much get up to The 100 Club and save some thing that can be saved! Sorry, I am sad and angry, I do not aim this at any one on this thread so please do not be offended, I am fearful that we may loose a club as important as Wigan Casino it's self, sorry to cross thread. I am going to post this on both "What Killed Wigan Casino? Well I Know What I Think!" And "The 100 Club one", I hope it's ok with the mods? I think it's relevant.- What Killed Wigan Casino?
