  1. Take a look here Matt: https://www.globaldogproductions.info/ Sorry Steve, no Stomp Town info.
  2. Jon Moss, later of Culture Club, was a frequent attendee in the early days. Used to come to West Hampstead, was at that niter on the other side of Oxford St (after the New Romantic evening bash, remember that?) and propped the bar up with Shane at 100 Club.(He was drummer for Nips for a while around that time too). He loved the music & vibe, with his initiation being W.Hampstead, totally understandable!
  3. I think it's been up on here before but this is worth seeing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I54DgVennXU
  4. There's #146 "Rainbow Week" and #152 "Do You Ever" also on DeLuxe. Think it was the latter which was released after the Columbia release?

  7. I recently bought myself a new toy which converts cassette tapes to digital so they can be turned into CD's.(Plusdeck). I've done a few Niter tapes so far,I'll try to put a Bradford Bensons session up later,it's excellent. If anybody wants anything converting onto CD free of charge PM me, I'll do them when I have time.

Track 4 is AKI ALEONG-Giving up on love on Vee Jay.
  14. Be careful before you slag someone off, if their username has been hacked they won't have a clue that their details have been used for 'second chance' offer. I'm speaking from experience.(Offered, not hacked).
  15. I think there's a promo 12" with 'unreleased' mixes on,don't know if your soundfile is from that? If nobody else can say, I'll check tonight & let you know.
  16. Sorry, forgot to add, you should be able to pick one up at Crazy Beat. https://www.crazybeat.co.uk/

  20. Personally, never EVER considered 'social issues'. Far less important than that, .
  21. Winnie, never saw a tear-up at a nighter on a par with a Saturday afternoon one. I agree with what you say, same people, different venues... But how to explain it.. :fool:
  22. A lot of 'soulies' 70's & 80's were involved with the football violence, no doubt about it. I found that a good number of faces from all-nighters were regulars at club and country tear-ups.( I know some of those from South Wales who went to the England away games because of the better 'atmosphere').I recall what for me were the defining moments which snapped me out of it: when it started getting nasty on the racial front, black players heckled at England games, how can that go hand in hand with the Northern Soul scene? It can't and it didn't for me. I don't regret 1 minute of the football thing because that's how it was at the time. And some of my best friends now are people who I wouldn't have even spoken to way back when. I think it's called "growing up".
