Calling all Northern Soul fans, the BBC would love to hear from you. BBC Music is crowdsourcing fans’ memories and archives from over 50 years of British rock, pop and Soul music for a new series to be broadcast on BBC Four called ‘The People’s History of Pop’. We’d love to hear from fans who followed the scene when Northern Soul first flourished in Britain back in the 70’s. Do you remember hearing your first record? Did you go to Clubs, all-nighters at The Wheel, The Torch, Va Va's, Cats, Wigan Casino, Blackpool Mecca, Cleethorpes, Samantha's? What about venue membership cards - have you kept yours? Hi Just bought Pointer Sisters promo It is on Vinyl and has the Glossy Label - ATLANTIC - Red & White DEMO - 45-2893 (P) 1972 Atlantic - Just above the address at the bottom of the Label POINTER SISTERS The A Side PLUG SIDE "DESTINATION NO MORE HEARTACHES" If you hold the record and read the Deadwax - It has (NEATLY SCRATCHED IN) small "A - 23116 - 4" at 6 O'Clock no Matrix mark at 5 O'Clock and "AT" at 3 O'Clock The B Side "SEND HIM BACK" If you hold the record and read the Deadwax - It has (NEATLY SCRATCHED IN) small "A - 23115 - 3" at 6 O'Clock no Matrix mark at 12 O'Clock and "AT" at 2 O'Clock It's a vinyl pressing edge of the label has a lip down to the deadwax Please advise Regards Jonathan
