    R.I.P. Mickey Kev
  3. Don,t know how true it is Gilly might be the one to ask but I heard that the reason his Revilot (brilliant) outing is rare was because after the first lot was released it was deemed to be a poor recording and the copies that didn,t sell were brought back in and destroyed, obviously only leaving the few that had sold in circulation, cue Gilly Kev

  7. Hi Jim, not really, I have one and the tinnieness and flimsy feel of it and because of what others have said made me assume mine was a boot, I would however, be delighted to be wrong and actually own a genuine issue, I reckon John Manship could clear this one up Kev

  10. Thanks Garry, just solved a mystery, recent thread about the Players touched on Vietnam records, "Does anybody know I,m here" was mentioned, I knew I had it and loved it so went up to dig through all my Dells albums to no avail, left me puzzled, thought I must have loaned it out to someone, mystery solved Kev
  11. Don,t know about the Demo Jim, but the issue on Seventy 7 was. Kev
  12. Just been digging around Roburt and pulled out IMO the brilliant Bill Brandon LP on Prelude, all produced by Mosses Dillard and Jesse Boyce, 3 great ballads and a couple of decent movers, this was in 1977, Moses is on guitar in the session while Jesse is on Bass, talented guys indeed Kev
  13. Check out the brilliant "I,ve Gotta Find a way" Parts 1 and 2 on Curtom records, personally prefer this to the brilliant "I,ll pay the price" Curtom release is by the Texas Town Display Kev
  14. Great listening lads, thats got to be t,other side on Special Agent (Syl Johnson) brilliant, and other side of "Shake off that dream" Eddie Billups, particular faves in a great set Kev
  15. Interested, I think you already know the answer to that, right up my street, always said a lot of the time early spots can be awesome when there is supposedly no pressure to get a dancefloor moving, best stuff in my opinion Kev
  16. Same as Jordi, wish I could walk into my local aswell and hear this, part 2 shades it for me, superb Kev
  17. Marvin Gaye "Whats Going On" followed shortly afterwards, borrowed it permanently from a mates sister Kev
  18. Yes Boba, lucky enough to have one, and yes its very good Kev
  19. The playlists tell you everything you need to know, another fantastic day, when you hear a record such as Debbie Taylor-I Don,t Wanna Leave You (brilliant Steve) which is a Deep Soul masterpiece played out, it tells you about the taste in music these lads have, no hang ups, just great genuine soul music, place was absolutely heaving, speaking for the NE lads here, we love the place Kev
  20. Once again, essential listening for the soul lover, Chocolate Buttermilk, Hiram and Direct, Contagious, RDM Band, Vareeations and Soul Ambassadors deserve special mention but the real pay off track was The Olympics-Baby I,m Yours, one word, awesome, the finale is not of this earth, best of a fantastic bunch for me Kev
  21. Enjoyed it aswell Toad, but was gutted when we found out Lee Jones wasn,t leading them, got talking to group later who informed us he was now a truck driver, makes your blood boil now when you think of all that shite on X Factor etc Kev
  22. Stax Golden Hour-Isaac Hayes, still play it today, brilliant Kev
  23. Absolutely brilliant Dave, loved every second of it Kev
  24. Add Larry Sanders to that and Ohio Players. Kev
