  8. depends on the type of scooterists.. I'm a scooterist but I only listern to Northern yet I have scooterist mates that hate Northern. They like Ska Phsyco billy etc... and when they are all peed up nelly the elephant. so they can be annoying on the dance floor..
  9. Dom Bassett... used to be a really good mate of mine we was in the same scooter club in 84 the first impressions... I new him when he first started djing at the civic in orpington he used to carry a little box of 50 records on the back of hes mauve vespa 90 which was called "love machine" top bloke we had many laughs together, havn't seen him for years.
  10. legit re-issue don't know but I bought mine from them months ago.. mines maroon got it from jazzman when it was first mentioned on here (soul source) I like it.... I think its a good dancer, trouble is any new realeses that get spun get spun to death and burn out to quickly and people get fed up with um...
  11. cut and pasted from jazzman records Nicole Willis & the Soul InvestigatorsIf This Ain't Love (Don't Know What Is)TimmionFinland5.00 Add to Basket Back in stock now! A departure from the funk we're used to from those folks at Timmion Records into a more soulful territory - but all you funk heads just wait a minute! A solid backbeat and sultry soul vocals means this CAN crossover into your territory too! And if you can't hear it, then shame on you! Some great talent here from song-writing to musicianship to recording quality - you know this got to #4 in the Finnish singles chart and stayed in the top 10 for 3 weeks?! IF ONLY that could happen here!!! Instead we get Mariah Carey and that stroppy rug-wearing ginga Elton John. I'm gonna move to Finland.Listen www.jazzmanrecords.co.uk

  14. will put up playlist on new thread... be good to see you again as its been a while... yeh rally (northern room was blinding)
  15. I only ever plan my first 2 records (which can change) then I go with whats been played whats not been played... I always think if you plan your set in your frontroom that day.. you may have a 70's head on (for example) and if the dj before you has just played a 70's set and it didn't go down to well.. you need to play something else.. If its half way through the night and no ones played any R'n'B then I play a bit of R'n'B... If the dj before has played a lot of stompers i'll go midtempo... I never plan a set and don't think I ever will, I now have enough faith in my playbox that I hope I don't have to worry and I can sort it as my spot goes on... (my box may not be to others taste but thats a differnt story) With me I only put in my box what I would play and that are dancers, I don't carry records around I would never play or I don't have faith in... I know people who do this... why? I always think theres no need to carry a box of 300 around with you... if at the end of the day you wouldn't play half of them anyway. Mind you, your playbox is a perssonal thing... so each to there own

  20. in the early 80's I had a parker for when i was on my scooter.. but myself and my mates would never been seen wearing them once we got off our scooters.. you took them off straight after taking your lid off..... they was to stop our suits getting dirty... they was no good when they got wet as they weighed a ton.. patches no... why do you need them... if you have a parker and you ride a scooter people know your a mod.
