Shaping Your Soul Future
Thats correct dave, will be out with ronnie this weekend, its an intresting thing that some people as you say just turned to modern soul, don`t think as yourself i could completely change my whole way of thinking, but as ive said before each to there own, there is a few things i enjoy but only because i was there at the time either sam or richard were playing them

Shaping Your Soul Future
don`t worry i`m only dipping my toe in the water, 60`s allways my first love, each to there own though as i say, i just wondered if people who are into the modern side of things grew up with that sort of music or actually move into it at some point and why that was

Shaping Your Soul Future
Was just thinking the other day, ive allways been a lover of 60`s uptempo soul, am slowly turning to the x over 60`s side of things, i just wondered if i hadn`t have gone to my local venue back then, THE OVAL BALL YORK run by wigan dj ALAN RHODES, if it had say been a more seventies orientated venue would i have gone down that road? how many people who were passionate about the sixties side of things have actually fully crossed over onto the modern scene, without the obvious front runners SAM, RICHARD ETC

Local Feuds
we ran our own do, payed for the hall out of our pockets, gave free cd`s out on the door [of our own stuff] the dj`s we asked came and did it for nothing and ran it for nearly two years, never charged on the door, it was only due to the club closing that we stopped, never made a penny played underplayed 60`s r&b and rarities, we tried to promote the scene, although it was never a packer we had a regular crowd who supported us, we did it cause we wanted to give something back

Yeh this one has a black star roger, apparantly theres a west coast release as well with DELTA #61589 in the run out, i think the nashville mattrix holds the key roger, i allways understood they had one just no mention in jm`s bootlegg book CHEERS ROGER
-
Frankie & Johnny White Demo
Thanks roger i was under the impression they should be nashville stamped, been watching one on the bay but its hard to see the run out width details on picture, e-mailed seller and thats the info i got, so it looks like a boot it also has a star on the left of the label wich is not present on your scan many thanks REGARDS HARRY, SUPPOSE I COULD GET A DECCA ONE THAT`D BE EASIER
-
Frankie & Johnny White Demo
Thought i`d ask you knowledgable people this, have referred to jm`s bootlegg guide wich informs me the run out is much wider on the boot than the original with scratched numbers 45-1-927 spiral D, could you answer me two questions please, should there be a nashville mattrix in the run out? & the numbers i`m looking at are 45-1391R spiral D THANKS FOR ANY HELP

Local Feuds
As allways malc a very well put reply, and unfortunatley its rife where i live no dissrespect to anyone, too many people doing so many things and nobody together for one SOUL purpose, to promote the scene as a whole, nights clashing, bad feeling between promoters etc, and its a shame as theres some great musical knowledge, and some very underated dj`s up here, ive honestly seen four soul nights within a twenty mile radius of one another on one night, its surely good for all concerned to comunicate between each other to avoid this, people aint gonna travel if theres a do round the corner, don`t really know what the answer is
-
Local Feuds
What makes me sad about this recent case is the history of the city in question where this is taking place was once a major contributor to the scene, and i have some very fond memories of some great venues there

Here here. matt, makes you wonder sometimes dunnit really, i suppose in this day and age of soaring petrol costs and all that if i was to travel to a venue for the first time i`d like to have some idea as to what i was gonna hear, think this is as i said a good idea, gives us summat to discuss and an insight in my case as to whats getting played at the other end of the country, good thread

Mark 'fluff' Freemans Current Top 30 Oldies
maybe we shouldn`t voice our opinions on this an OPEN FORUM eh it obviously upsets some people, have to remember that
-
Mark 'fluff' Freemans Current Top 30 Oldies
personally i think this is a good idea, gives us chance to see what others are playing, and to broaden our horizons through other peoples tastes
