Demise Of The Traditional Record Shop
Its such a shame that things like this is happening, as a lad in york it was a social event meeting all your mates at sound effect in kings square york one of the guys who worked behind the counter, was into the northern scene and was go ing to the nighters at the time,we wern`t going then so in a way it was listening to him and listening to the boots in the box on the end of the counter that really started us off, good luck to you both for the future HARRY

Totally agree with you there mate moved into the area about 4yrs ago from york, never came up this way much apart from seeing eddie holman at the dolphin centre many moons ago also used to do the mayfair siute newcastle, allways went the other way to lancashire, was and still amazed at the wealth of talent/knowledge up here total respect! back to the counts yeh the lad where talking about has a fantastic collection, me and my wife run a night at EASINGTON VILLAGE WMC rare & underplayed 60`s n r`n`b & he dj`s for us regularly nice lad just as you say dosn`t get the recognition he and a lot of others up here deserve all the best HARRY- An All-nighter
In total agreement here guys, me n my missus hold a night up here were we live totally dedicated to this sort of thing, we don`t charge an admission fee, obviously theres not as much intrest as the local oldies/across the board music policy nights so we don`t hold these as regular,we did a lot of research before starting these nites & the intrest is there and its begining to pick up after a slow start, IMHO theres so much music lost and good music too- The Mother Of All Broken Record Disasters
Back to this one again pete, how many copies of this record are there, was talking to a goo friend of mine who is a shrine collector. lives up north near me and he informed me he has a copy, now seeing his collection i totally believe him just wondered how many theres supposed to be? he informed me his copy is the one that the sounbite for the shrine cd was lifted from- Nolan Chance, just Like The Weather,c-161

There were quite a few bad trips to wigan, heres one of them, coming from york we used to get the train change at leeds and then on to manchester, in those days we used to go with a few of us one of these was a lad who`s nickname was Billy whizz [R.I.P.}those of you who can remember him would know billy liked a drink to say the least, anyway it was a quick change of trains in leeds but at manchester we had an hour to kill so we used to go into the rowntree bar near the station for a pint, as usual billy was mortal by this time, once in the pub Billy dcided to go to the toilets wich was through the pool room at the back were all the coloured guys hung out i allways waited to go on the train looked a bit dodgy to me and had a funny smell, anyway billy came back from the loo n started going through his pockets looking for his wallet, He then accused everyone in the bar of stealing his walet, Before sticking his head through the pool room door n shouting, WICH ONE OF YOU F***ING BLACK B*****DS HAS PINCHED MY WALLET,my first thought was were dead we were chased all the way back to the station where i vaulted the turnstiles n hid in the toilets now that was dodgy when your only seventeen the thing was nothing ever happened to dear old billy he just fell over- First £100 Record And £1000 Record
