Ha ha never i hope

We got our new Male. Smooth fox terrier "Bob" yesterday 6 months old. Rosie our little Bitch, has really taken to him. He was only here 2 hours when i took this one. Looks like we are in for some fun this summer with these two. He lived with another two, he`s the last of a litter from last August, he lived with an old country lad who is getting bad on his legs now, so he`s keeping his two older ones, but needed a new home for young "Bob". We`ve just been out for our first walk, he`s never been on a lead before, the old guy used to drive from his home up onto a near by moor in his landrover and the dogs ran behind him. He did really well on the lead, gonna need a bit of work, but we will get him there. He`s the one with the harness on.

Is it a Ticket do Rob? gonna get along if possible.

When Di`s dad passed away at christmas Suz, we lost the use of the car, as it was his motobility car and i was his driver. So ive not been able to get Rosie to Crimdon beach. So we`ve been looking for a new stretch of beach, so i can let her off her lead, so this one is ideal for us, and i can get her running again, so we`ll be there a lot now, only 20 mins walk from our house, and it`s keeping me fit also

A lovely morning this morning. We are back to our adventures me and Rosie (my beloved smooth fox terrier). Finding out new walks, not far from our house, lovely one this morning, through the woods and down onto the beach at Horden. The national trust have done a marvellous job, cleaning up the beaches round here, as it was all coal on the beaches from the days of heavy industry up here. Sadly those days have gone, but in their wake, has been left some stunning scenery and walks. Been out 3 hours, a lovely spring day, woods full of birdsong.

Funny that Dave, Rosie loves Pasta & Rice, good for them as well, she has rice and chicken everyday. I know a man of the smooth fox terrier page on facebook, who has an all white smooth haired one with just black ears, he lives in spain, he`s called his.....Snoopy

I have a friend with a wire haired one Dave, she lives with 3 cats, she`s fine with them, but you can`t stroke or pet her, she`d have your hand off, there is only him who can touch her, he`s had her at dog behaviourists and they gave up, yet she get`s on fine with mine. The smooth haired ones, seem to be on the decline nowadays, they are on the endangered breed list over here in the uk, we were thinking of getting another, and i could only find 2 kc registered breeders in the uk, one is about 20 mile away from us in County Durham and the other one is in Scotland, seems everybody prefers the wire haired ones. Very popular breed in the USA and Europe though. I have a mate who has a farm, we go down to his, and let Rosie and his 2 jack russells lose in the barns for a days Ratting, they all had 29 out in the summer. She needs it every now and then, she`s a lovely dog, but fully wired for hunting, as she should be, different dog when she`s working. That`s one hell of an age for a wire haired mate, they are great dogs.

Heres a couple of my smooth fox terrier.

Love them Dave, so much spirit, an old game keeper once told me "Size of a mouse, Heart of a lion". Rosie is a lovely dog, but she is fully terrier wired, if it moves it get`s it, nose always to the floor when we are out. She`s two years old now, and plays all day every day, she really is a faithful companion and a lovely dog.

Hi Steve, yes keeping ok thanks mate, i hope you and yours are the same. I`m still enjoying my fishing and being out in the countryside, along with my side kick my beloved smooth haired fox terrier, although most of my chub bait, cheese and luncheon meat is given away to her nowadays. I am a very patient person being a fisherman, but wether i would have had the patience for such a wonderful shot........ I don`t think so, and am sure my dog would have spoiled the shot a thousand times lol. Take care my friend, although i don`t post much nowadays, i always enjoy reading this topic.. I`ll leave you with a nice shot of my Fox terrier in full flight, on our local beach one morning All the best H
