I was digging through a box of records I got last week that included this one. I can provide some photos. The record comes in a plain paper sleeve with a red stamp in Japanese on the top of the sleeve with an A and B label with Japanese writing on it. It's definitely an acetate. It's mint. I briefly played it to ID it. Any idea on value on something like this? I can't imagine there are that many knocking about. Cheers!

Hello, I have the chance to purchase this on an out of town trip this morning. It is marked $300 (which I know is too high), but it is another dealer, do he has offered to lower it to $240. I've heard stories of people coming up to some dealers at shows and asking if they have soul 45s, to which they get a response like: "I have all sorts of those in the basement. You want that s*it?" That's about the time you say, "Yes I do. How about a tenner for the lot?"

Pete, The people who do that are only hurting themselves. The ones that boggle the mind are the ones listing soul 45s that won't ship outside the States. Apparently they don't have any idea where the most demand is.

Pete, not all of the US sellers are like this.

I've actually sold two records that I regret selling not because they're rare, but I realized I really like them. One is George Carrow Angel Baby red label stock. I have had the chance to buy it again, but cash is tight. The other is Christopher Cerf's Sweet Music. I've seen it once since I sold it, but it is priced at about $100, which is out of my budget. Oh well, that's the way it goes.

As someone that's still pretty new to the soul scene (January 2008), I need to make it a high priority to get to Manchester for sure this year so I can experience The Wheel in person.

It sounds great, but I have a question. Why, oh, why do I hear drum machines? I don't understand how you can say you're using all-real instrumentation with drum machines?
