We are pretty excited at Terrace Soul to announce our inaugural UK Soul and Jazz Funk Weekender . With events overseas being curtailed over the last 2 years we’ve got lots of catching up to do . This Weekender is brought  to you by the  same  award winning events team voted the Top Soul Club Night outside of London past and present .

Weekender takes place at The Upscale Alexandra House on Friday November 11th to Sunday 13th November 2022 . 
 
Alexandra House is a modern 4 Star premium contemporary Hotel boasting 152 en-suite bedrooms with impressive leisure facilities comprising of heated swimming pool , steam room and spa pool and gym . Alexandra House is a Venue Collection/Portfolio Hotel which won team of the year at The 2021 M&IT Travel Industry Awards
 
Situated on the M4 corridor J15 /J16 meaning easy commuting distance / road trip from Bristol ,Thames Valley , Berkshire , Oxfordshire , Gloucestershire , Hampshire and South Wales surrounding areas . The week end starts off Friday Evening with a Welcome Party hosted by Ash Selector ( Solar Radio ) with  residents Paul Alexander and ChrisJazzieB playing modern contemporary soul and multi number one UK Soul Chart Recoding Artiste  Rich Beggar 
 
The daytimes over the Weekend  have an All Dayer feel about them with Saturday afternoon session being hosted by the Dons - Aitch B ( Soul 11 Soul ) and Perry Louise ( Shiftless Shuffle ) bringing their brand “All about Da  Boogie “ to Alexandra House playing Jazz -Funk & Boogie all on original vinyl  
 
Saturday Evening promises to be something really special if you like your 70s & 80s Jazz Funk with Headliners “The Brit Funk Association” ,  performing “ live “ in concert with former members of Hi-Tension, Light Of The World , Incognito , Beggar & Co and Second image with Paul Lewis ( JFSR / Brunel Rooms ) and Ash Selector taking you through to the early hours of Sunday Morning . 
 
The Sunday afternoon  All Dayer Jazz Funk sessions  are hosted by Lorne Dailey ( Do What You Wanna Do ) with Shaun Gallager ( Camp Soul ) and Al B ( JFSR )

Color One Tear Black welcomes Paul McKay and Dominic Owen as guest selectors at The Paradise on Sunday 13th November
 
Paul has been in this for the long-haul, having first started collecting soul 45s back in 1968. From being a regular at Terry Davis’ Wheatsheaf in the Kings Road, and running a mobile disco in the early 70s, he and a couple of soul-loving friends set up Soul in the City in 2001. This ran for six years and led to guest spots at the 100 Club, venues across the country, and internationally. More recently Paul has been spinning at Soul Prescription at the Betsy.
 
As well as being the man behind HERESY clothing, Dominic is a committed collector of sweet, mid-tempo and crossover, and has recently spun tunes at Spiritland, Ducie Street Warehouse and the Chelsea Arts Club.
 
Both Paul and Dominic have a broad approach to soul music, so we’re very much looking forward to their sweet and deep selections as it’s bound to be an education.
 
 
COTB residents Claire Kalvis, Jim Edwards and David Hill will also be spinning alongside Paul and Dominic on the 13th.
The second instalment in our Cost of Living mix series is now up on Mixcloud, and can be heard here. Tunes in this mix were chosen by COTB's Claire Kalvis and Dr. Kruger, the criteria being that all selections must be available today for £10 of less, in at least VG+ condition.
Set up in February 2016 by Thierry Cochet, AKA Dr. Kruger (NTS), Color One Tear Black celebrates group harmony, sweet and deep soul music, played on original issue 45s by resident DJs Dr Kruger, Claire Kalvis, Jim Edwards, David Hill plus guests.
