Dance floor for  looks a bit small for a northern soul  nite. But maybe give it a  look.

Pretty sizeable 'in the flesh' actually.

Not exactly a Blackpool Wintergardens but fine for a Northern Night. 🙂

+ Some of the most reasonable bar prices I have seen at a gig in a long time!

EG. Fosters Lager £3 /pint

PS. A few have expressed concern about getting seats. There is plenty of seating, but as this is a pay on the door event there are no advance tickets so please arrive fairly early if you're concerned.

Then again, you can always just dance the night away!

Wow! What can I say about the inaugural Northern Soul Night at the Thistleberry on Saturday!

Monster turnout... right up to the venue limit.

Fantastic music from some of the areas best DJs;

Geoff MacAskill opening, and setting a high standard for those who followed,

Ray Casey keeping up the good work with selections from his excellent record collection,

Phil Ankers in fine form with a perfect blend of top sounds and crowd-pleasing classics.

The dancefloor was buzzing by the time Wigan oldies maestro Dave Evison took centre stage to do what he does best... fill the floor with a mixture of all-time favourites and forgotten gems,

Jez Jones proceeded to up the ante with some current scene biggies interspersed with quality classics,

I rounded off a thoroughly enjoyable night with the odd classic not already played, requests and dedications.

A fabulous opening night!

Top music, on original vinyl, from top DJs over an excellent sound system in a comfortable venue... and one of the hottest I have been in for a long while - reminiscent of the packed venues of the 70s and 90s. Hot Hot Hot, with music to match.

A big thank you to the DJs, the hard working staff and management, and most importantly the dancers and listeners who turned up in force to make it such a wonderful, friendly and atmospheric first night at the 'Thiss'!

Thank you.

👌💜😇xx
