About The Event

The Big South West Soul Weekender 2023.

Due to St Ives Guildhall under going refurbishment in 2023, the Soul On Wax crew have joined forces with the Soul Mafia to bring you one massive soul weekender not to be missed. We have now sorted out the final details, which include the fantastic SOULUTIONS live on stage on the Saturday night. We have a fabulous line up of Top UK Soul Spinners including, Colin Curtis, Soul Sam, Ted Massey, Mick H, Chris Box, Trowbridge Matt, Paul Garland, Taz, Dean Carr, Nige Graham, Martin Shaw, Tom Yule, Laurence Cullen, Trevor Nolan, Sid Pratt, Don Palmer, Chris Stretch, Mark Cadwallader, Dave Beckwith, Mark Oliver, Rich Brown and Mark Finch.

Venue: Pontins, Sand Bay Holiday Village, 67 Beach Rd, Kewstoke, Weston-super-Mare BS22 9UR

Entertainment Schedule: 

Queen Vic Bar - Main Ballroom - Modern Room 

Music from 12 Midday until 3.00 am Friday and Saturday,     Sunday - Music from 12 Midday until 12 Midnight. (more details to follow).

Deposits as low as £20 p/p can be taken to hold the special early bird price! (balance due 2 months prior to event commencement)

That's just £50 per day for your accommodation, food and entertainment for three days!

    A great weekender from start to finish. The promoters Sarah, Dean, Frank & Rico have already planned another weekender here for next year and tickets are selling fast! This one was sold out quickly and I expect next year's to do the same. The whole weekend was so well managed the Pontins staff were so helpful and the accomodation and food were good value for the money paid. The venue was great for the music we love, dancefloors top draw, sound system well managed and the music was diverse keeping everybody happy. Many thanks to everyone who made this a weekend to remember - you can all go to the top of the class!

    This seemed like a very typical first time Weekender , so without feedback most people that read friends reviews could assume this could be prestatyn, brid , and Blackpool rolled into one , room allocation was a farce, it's OK if you want to spend 5 hours in the bar drinking, but standing In a queue for nearly an hour to be handed your room is not right , before everyone tries to defend this hear me out , we are not children !! there is NO reason that your arrival pack could not be given with instructions on your arrival, your room will be available at 4 o'clock, enjoy the hospitality  , the accommodation and food were sound, even though the queues were long the timing was good and the craic was good , musically too much repetition, some tunes as much as 6 times, 2 rooms,1, across the board northern, 1 modern,  equals 2 modern rooms at times , modern should not be played in a northern soul room, lastly if you have a band Don't force everyone to endure, keep a room open for people that don't really care for that kind of entertainment , ATB for the future, Stephen

    Great time had by all. Pontins did a good job with the food. Recommended the Team done well Thanks to Soul wax and Soul Mafia. Already booked for next year. KTF

    Awesome weekender as good as it gets imo and I’ve done enough of them to know, the very few teething problems will be sorted out for next time, this will grow to be even better and a monster of a weekend no one will want to miss.

    Like with something new to this scene you can’t please everybody but the Mass majority I spoke to loved it and are returning, to have sold 400 tickets after one day of the box office opening speaks volumes.

    Nuff said miss it miss out 🎶🫶
