Dates: May 23rd-25th at Hammarby Rodd, the same rowing club we used for the last couple of years - a small, intimate venue right by the water. Nice sound system, cheap bar and a lovely outdoor area to chill out in if the weather is what is normally is. Friday and Saturday from 2 PM to 2 AM, Sunday from 2 PM to midnight.

A weekender pass for Friday, Saturday and Sunday is 500 SEK (about 37 GBP). A one day pass is 250 SEK.

Any questions about tickets, hotels, transport etc, just get in touch with me on here or ask co-promoter Jens Chreisti on Facebook. The Stockholm Soul Weekender Facebook group is here: https://sv-se.facebook.com/groups/530921883625901/

Thanks for looking,

Carl

So, where to start? Well arriving at the venue with just 8 minutes to spare before my first ever set at my first ever STOCKHOLM SOUL WEEKENDER might seem a good place 😉 No time for hello’s, straight in and straight on, with the first of many Swedish lagers in hand, off I went… A few records in and the sight of some familiar faces and a welcoming atmosphere even at 5pm made it easy to quickly settle in and drop a few sounds from the crates!

I love Stockholm (I worked there back in 2008 and have visited many times since) and I love soul music and so I decided to combine the two and take a trip to the Stockholm Soul Weekender and all I can say to Carl, Jens, all of the DJs, the bar staff and all of the wonderful people that I met from Sweden, Italy, Holland, Germany and the UK - you fuc*ing well smashed it!

No politics, no elitest attitudes - just a big bunch of warm people who love soul music in its various guises and who like to have a laugh, a drink and a dance.

Hopefully see you all again in 2026

PS Carl, if you could persuade Jens to post or send his Sunday playlist I would be eternally grateful,. Oh and just one other thing - could you please remind me of the 2026 dates?

Cheers Slippers

Response from the promoter:

Thanks so much Damon, lovely to get the chance to have a proper chat with you. Will remind Jens to write down his plays and get a bunch of playlists posted here. Dates for 2026 are May 29–31.

Cheers,

Carl
