Can you upload a short soundfile of the Uni version?

From memory the strings are way down in the mix on the LP for GG 'Aint that good enough' and 'Girl i love you'. The 45's simply leap out the speakers at you and give you a good kicking!

Think they could be the same tracks just mixed different for the LP although I could be wrong as i said i'm going from memory and don't have them in front of me at the moment?

Had to read that again, got all excited wondering about the Clarence Reid Uni LP I had never heard of!!

I assume the other part of the question is did the CR track appear on any LP, I have 2 on Alston and its not on there.

To my knowledge he's only done 3 LP's 2 on Alston with Running Water in 1973 and On the Job in 1976 and an earlier one on Tayster in 1969. You knock me out was released around 1970 and not all of the singles around that time reached the LP's. With significant changes musically between 1970 and 1973, maybe they thought 3 years was a bit too long for inclusion.

You Knock Me Out is not on any album. It was only locally released, that is not distributed by Atlantic.

I think it's currently under-priced.

Interesting that it's published by Redwal, Otis Redding and Alan Walden's publishing company. I'll have to check but I can't recall any other of his songs being in this publishing arrangement.

Always liked this version of "you knock me out" by wildflower.

WILDFLOWER - YOU KNOCK ME OUT -

His version of "I've Been Trying" is indeed fantastic Andy. Could be spun in the more enlightened crossover rooms as it's actually pretty danceable.

Also a nice version.

But for me it sounds a little bit to clean shaven.

I asked for a Clarence Reid Lp version

because i don't have the money to by records in the 150 pounds level.
