Sometimes I cringe at the thought of putting alternative versions of classic Northern tunes on here, but I think this one is definitely worth a mention.

Another version of 'Picture me gone' by Dave Berry. I love the version by Evie Sands and there's another by Madeline Bell too, both great.

Played in Burnley (amongst other places), in the mid 70s for a few months. Hasn't aged too well though in my opinion. :)

Agree, terrible version.

But on the subject of Madeline Bell, her Philips singles are all brilliant, not that many people know she did a great version of "Don't come running to me", then there's the aformentioned "Picture me gone" and a really fantastic version of "I can't wait to see my baby's face" which uses the same backing track as Dusty's LP version.

Yes above all of the versions of this I do think the Evie Sands version stands tallest, and the Madaline Bell one a close second. I just put this up as an alternative male version. KTF
