Think these were done in the 70's for budget label compilation albums: I had a version of Um Um Um Um Um Um on a compilation album (though they called it Curious MInd for some reason)

That has "much newer" sound than the '60s. It surely doesn't sound like Johnny Pate or Riley Hampton's '60s arranging, nor the Columbia musicians they used. It sounds like a '70s arranger and band trying to "copy" the original.

It sounds as though it was done at the same session as the Gusto 45 with remakes of "Um, um, um" and "Monkey time", issued in 1979

I've just found a reference to a 4 track EP put out by Gusto in 2008, including "The matador". You can hear a preview in iTunes - I'm sure it's this version.

It doesn't even sound like it could be from '79, it has digital synth. It could have been recorded in '79 and the synth track changed later.

Does anyone know if this version of "The matador" exists in a physical format? Vinyl preferred, naturally, but I'd take a CD if that's all there is
